This will be my last post for 2008 :D Any plans tonight on how to welcome the New Year? Well, we don’t have anything plan. Going to visit my dad as his office later and maybe have dinner somewhere. I think most roads are going to be jam as revellers will be coming out in full force. I heard there will be concerts at several malls like One Utama and The Curve. Anyway, I hope 2009 will be a good year for everyone and pray that the recession won’t hit us too hard.

Have a great celebration but don’t drink and drive :D See you in the New Year.

My Bento Looking Creation

Posted on Dec 30, 2008 under ashley, food | 8 Comments

Here is my bento looking creation using the foodpicks and silicone dishes that I bought earlier :)   I made a cheese omellete for Ashley and cut them into smaller pieces.  Then I rolled them up.  My bento is pretty plain looking huh?  Pales in comparison to the bentos made by some of the blogger mommies.  No cute nori flakes or funny shaped vegetables to dress it up :D   Nevertheless, Ashley likes the eggs and of course, she chose the pink coloured picks first.

A Bagful Of Goodies

Christmas Day has come and gone in a flash but guess what?  I received a Christmas pressie today from Min Hui of Teik Senn (M) Sdn Bhd.  This company is a widely recognized distributor of food packaged products for hypermarkets, supermarkets and wholesaler. They represent local brands such as Woh Hup, Cocon and more.  They also represent foreign brands such as Captain Oats, Sunsweet, Reynolds, Tulips and more.  Thanks to this lovely mama who introduced Min Hui to me as she knows I give Ashley lots of Sunsweet Prunes and also Sunsweet Prune juice to ease her bowel movement.  Prunes are just bursting with goodness.  They are full of antioxidant and contain lots of fiber.  Not only are prunes healthy, they are very good for the waistline too. The soluble fiber in prunes give a fullness sensation after eating.  Therefore, prunes can help to prevent overeating.  Do you know that each prune only contains about 11 calories and they are fat free? Ok, enough about all these Prunes talk.  Here is a peek at what I received in the goodie bag today.

(from left to right) Dark blue Sunsweet Apron, Sunmaid Raisins, Sunsweet Prunes, a container, Sunmaid Raisins Mini-Snacks, Tulip Luncheon Meat & Diamond Zipper Storage bags.

Min Hui is so kind to also compile some nutritious recipes featuring Sunsweet, SunMaid & Tulip products.  I can’t wait to try the Pork Stew with Sunsweet Prunes :D

Thanks again, Min Hui for the lovely gift.

A thief or thieves came to our house today between midnight to early morning. Only came to the porch and took away 12 pairs of shoes from our shoe cabinet and shoe rack.  4 pairs belong to hubs, 2 pairs mine and 6 pairs of my mom’s.  Most of my shoes, hubs and Ashley’s are in the shoe cabinet inside the house.  There isn’t enough space so my mom keeps hers in the shoe cabinet at the porch.  I don’t care much about my shoes and hubs that were taken but I feel bad for my mom because some of them are her fav.  2 were bought in London and one is a rather new Rockport running shoes which she wears for her morning walk sometimes. *sigh*  The a**holes took the branded shoes and left the not-so-branded ones behind.

What’s left at the shoe rack

The ‘almost bare’ shoe cabinet :(

Mommy told me that dear Aunty Jan sent her some money and asked that she get a Christmas present for me.  Isn’t that nice of Aunty Jan?  Actually, Chloe cheh-cheh & Aunty Jan have sent me a very pretty pink dress but it got lost in the mail.  Mommy is pretty upset about this. She said we have lost many parcels lately.  She will be talking to the post office soon.  Anyway, yesterday, daddy & mommy brought me to the happiest place on earth – ToysRUs to get my Christmas present.  I went through every aisle and finally saw this cute Baby Alive doll

Me and my baby

Rock a bye baby

Time for milk

THANK YOU VERY MUCH, AUNTY JAN. I love my baby and I am going to sleep with her every night.  By the way, I named her Charlie.  Mommy said it’s a boy’s name but I like it.  So, Charlie it is :D

We were at The Gardens on Christmas Eve and as usual, I checked out my favorite bakery – Yamazaki which is next to Cold Storage. Saw some bagels and couldn’t resist :D   They have Cranberry, Blueberry, Raisins & Cinnamon and plain ones.  Too bad I couldn’t find bagels with poppy seeds.  Those are my all-time fav.  I bought a packet of 2 plain bagels at RM4.  Not too bad eh?

This is what I had for lunch today.  Plain bagel with Japanese cucumbers and a slice of chicken ham.  Mmmmm…..heaven :D

Happy Holidays
