Oh dear, how could the teacher have done that? They are only in preschool, must they get every single step correct in order to perform? This lowers the child’s self confidence and esteem. Hope yr gal is ok.

I totally agree that you should bring up the matter to the school board.
What that teacher did is utterly wrong. Her actions are telling the kids that they are “not good enough”, which is totally totally wrong.
If that is the attitude of the teacher, God help the children under her care!
As a matured adult and a teacher, one should be encouraging the children to reach for the stars instead of pushing them down.

all children can dance provided they have enuff practices. shdnt leave out ashley like that. i wld be angry too..

yr dissapointment was definitely understandable, i mean being the parents!! yeah u shd pursue to TEACH the teacher a lesson!!
on my boys drama class performance recently, sean was only given a 2-words dialogue…he was sad, thus i was fuming mad too that i ended up sent a ‘meaningful’ sms to the teacher as well as d principal. then d teacher made an explaination in the opening speech & the principal even talked to me personally…i’m happy then, haha

Oh…poor Ashley….hoep she didn’t take it too badly.

Yeah….I think if the kids are already picked out, should let them continue….for Ashley to know all the dance moves, she must have practised and been part of the practise team earlier….

that’s a big problem with Malaysian education system. Students must follow rules, to the dot and creativity is not encouraged. So what if a child dances differently ? She’s creative in her own way but the darn teacher had to isolate her. How is Ashley taking it ? She must be sooo disappointed but luckily she still received a prize for the running event

sorry that this happened. Teacher is seriously too much. I remember my kiddie concert was havoc! Kids don’t follow routine, kids crying, kids don’t want to perform…but still, the show went on. Hope this won’t happen at year end concert.

Talking to both teacher & headmaster? It’s not only for Ash’s sake, but also for the sake of other kids cause her actions may/will bring down a child’s esteem. Being a teacher herself wonder where’s her common sense. Sigh !
