her version

One of Ashley’s favourite tv programme is Art Time on Playhouse Disney.  She loves to see what the children on TV would be drawing and also the animation.  A few days ago, she saw a girl drawing a snail and it went around looking for its home.  Then, this lil missy went under the sofa and told me that she’s a snail and she has found her home.  Yup…her home (the shell) is the sofa …..hehehehehehe.  Kids have lots of funny ideas and imagination eh?  Sometimes the missy drives me up the wall till I don’t need to buy phentermine to lose weight.  At times, her antics would bring a smile to my face :)

Designer Paper Bags

Posted on Sep 29, 2009 under funny, General, me, Uncategorized | 23 Comments

I read an interesting article in the newspaper yesterday.  It is about designer paper bags in fashion-conscious Japan.  The article revealed that some Japanese girls like to carry paper bags belonging to designer brands.  They would keep their purse, gym clothes, plastic canister, lunch box and more in the bag and carry it around.  Some even use a special brand bag for special occasion.

This sure brings back memories of my teenage years.  I used to cringe when my mom handed me the pink  or white plastic bags.  I didn’t want to be caught carrying it.  How uncool.

Back then there were no brands like Esprit, Gap or Benetton in Ipoh.  So carrying the shopping bags of boutiques or well-known shoe shops were considered cool :)   That’s what I thought anyway.  I remember going to Singapore and shopped at Esprit.  When they gave me their plastic shopping bag, I treated it like gold.  I also used their shopping bag to put my stuff and go shopping with it.  Crazy huh?  However, I won’t iron the bag after each outing like the girl mentioned in the article …..hehehehehe.  Too bad I don’t know what happened to the Esprit plastic bag now.  What about you?  Did you do the same when you were younger?

what we did

On Saturday, Ashley and I spent some time at my sis’s place.  When Ashley knew we were going over to her yee yee’s place, she was very excited.  She quickly took out her little luggage bag and start to pack *slaps forehead* It’s like we were going on a vacation. My youngest sister went to Spore last week and bought a set of necklace and bracelets for Ashley.  Of course, this vainpot couldn’t wait to put them on.  Check out what she wore to her yee yee’s place.  Top to bottom in pink with accessories.  What’s next?  Shopping for wrinkle eye cream? She’s growing up too fast.   Ashley enjoyed herself at her yee yee’s place, playing Wii Bowling and hanging out with her aunts.

Magical Place On Earth

Many years ago before my husband and I returned to Malaysia, we went for a vacation in Florida.  What’s there to do in Florida?  Well, besides being a shopping paradise filled with factory outlets, it is the happiest place on earth because Disney World is there.  Both my husband and I felt like a kid again when we stepped into Disney World.   There are just so many things to see at the theme parks and we had the time of our life.  We actually spent 5 whole days in Disney World and the Disney Tickets that we bought are known as Park Hoppers which allow us to hop from one theme park to another and come and go as we wish.  Pretty cool eh?  We plan to take Ashley to DisneyLand in Hong Kong next year, though I wish we were going to Disney World instead.  I know Ashley would love that and heck, so would I.   Well, if you are planning to visit Disney World soon, don’t forget to get affordable tickets from OrlandoFunTickets.com.

Lanterns Display

Posted on Sep 26, 2009 under ashley, family, shopping | 12 Comments

Every year, during the Mid-Autumn Festival, Cheras Leisure Mall would organize a lantern making competition and those creative lanterns will be displayed inside the mall.  We have been visiting every year to look at the lanterns.  Yesterday, we decided to visit Leisure Mall again to view the lanterns as I know Ashley would be thrilled to see them.   To my disappointment, there was no lantern competition this year.  I wonder why.  It has been a tradition of this mall to hold the competition.  The only thing that greeted us were the orange lanterns decoration.  They look like pumpkins to me.

A giant Rafflesia flower.  This is the only thing that Ashley would pose next to.  She’s even afraid of the giant mooncake above because there was a giant ant next to it *shake head*

More orange lanterns on the bridge to the next building.

Eventhough there weren’t any lantern competition, the lil missy enjoyed herself.  She was happy to see the insects and plants display.  We also bought something for her which she loves so much.  Stay tuned for more ;)

Do You Like Mooncakes?

The Mid Autumn Festival is just about a week away.  I have been eating some mooncakes lately. Fattening huh?  I usually don’t buy a box of them.  Just one or two mooncakes which I fancy.  Recently, I bought a Tiramisu mooncake from Baker’s Cottage.

Gosh it was so sweet that I could only stomach a small piece.  Definitely not going to try their other new flavours.  I heard that their Precious Black which features charcoal powder butter pastry skin with wolfberries are all sold out.  I bought the Rich Chocolate Peanut Praline for Ashley as she has been asking for chocolate mooncakes.  Unfortunately, she doesn’t like it.  Too sweet maybe.  Her favourite?

So, what’s your favourite mooncakes?

Hey Everyone.   Thanks for coming to my blog to see how I’m doing.  I am better now but just not in the mood to do anything :(   Just one of those days, I guess.  Will be back to update when I get my groove back.

I am still coughing…actually the coughing stopped a few days ago and then came back *sigh*  The thing that is killing me is the 2 wisdom tooth.  My mouth is swollen and I can’t eat nor talk much.  Misreable!  I think the thyroid is making my body really weak, hence I fall sick easily.  However, I don’t know why the 2 wisdom tooth decide to come out together.  All the dental clinics are closed now because of the Raya holidays.  I will look up the directories list for a dental clinic near my place. I really dread going to one *double sigh*

Thanks for all your well wishes earlier :)
