Birthday Party at A&W
Posted on Nov 09, 2009 under ashley, friends | 13 CommentsWe attended a birthday party yesterday at A&W in PJ. It’s the birthday of our friends’ son, Daniel who turned 9. There were 40 over kids and adults at the party.

When the A&W Bear (mascot) arrives, Ashley went to hide *shake head* She was terrified of the bear so daddy had to accompany her outside at the restaurant. I took over after a while and sat with her till the bear left the party room. You know what? The bear actually walked past our table and stopped to wave to other kids in the restaurant. It even shook hands with Ashley…hehehehehe. I’m glad that after that, she’s not afraid of the bear anymore when she saw it later.

It was a fun party and lasted about 1.5 hours. There was a time limit and everyone had to leave the party room on the dot because another party was being held in the same room after us. We adjourned to another eating area to chit chat. This A&W outlet is very popular and is the first in Malaysia. The building is more than 30 year old and I think it needs a makeover badly. Some parts of the ceiling turned moldy because of water leakage *yikes*. Kohler faucets in the washrooms would be nice

Your daughter is so adorable and feminine (compares to mine). Great to hear she isn’t afraid of the big brown bear. I’m facing difficulty to get my daughter near any mascot / clown / anyone in ‘clothes’.

I’ve been to this A&W when I studied in KL 11 years ago. The birthday boy is so handsome.

I dislike the mascot as it looks ugly, haha..i always went to that A&W during my young days especially after swimming! Is the State swimming pool still there?
err..I didn’t notice the swimming pool though. i heard there is a bowling alley nearby but not sure if it’s still there

A&W was my absolute favourite burger joint when I was a kid but recently, their burgers really suck big time. Everything is so, so……I also don’t know what to say. At least the floats are still a winner!

Ashley is very tall! The boy is 9 and she’s like only a little shorter than him (or is it the angle?) The party looks fun. C has never been to one before…

here Ipoh no more A&W for long time. Think only KL can survive. My kid also scare too if he sees the A&W bear…lol
ahhh…the last A&W was opposite the cathay cinema..i remember going to that one when i was younger

dun laugh ah.. i am VERY SCARED if the mascot too!
hahahahah….another mommy was telling me the same thing..she’s afraid of the mascot even till today

Wow..that’s a big party. Ashley’s not afraid of the bear anymore..so brave. Gwen’s afraid of clowns. She is ok with animal mascots though.

Ashley is pretty in pink. Sound like a great party. Love A&W rootbeer float.
tq. sadly the rootbeer float doesn’t taste that good anymore. dunno why. the ‘oomph’ is not there anymore.
