Author: We just got back from a short break and it was to the beach again!
We stayed at Thistle this time. This hotel was previously known as Guoman resort. The newly refurbished hotel has a private 3km beach, outdoor swimming pools, separate Kids’ Wet Play Zone, three restaurants, two bars, a Fitness Centre & LifeSpa, SWAT camp, water sports and a spacious tropical garden.
We booked a Standard King size room but were upgraded to a King Deluxe room with garden view by the hotel. How nice eh? Here’s what our room looked like.

Most of the time, we just stayed in the hotel, lazed around the pool, walked along the beach or watched tv while munching snacks. We only went out to look for food during lunch and dinner. Breakfast was at the hotel too. We really enjoyed our stay at Thistle. I must say that it is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of KL life.

The king size bed is really humungous!
Lil missy has grown up so much and she was willing to sleep on the day bed and not clinging on daddy and mummy at night. Daddy and mummy could sleep more comfortably on the king size bed. What a good holiday for all of you.
This is such a relaxing getaway! How I wish I have the chance too~

I like Thistle PD too. Not too far from KL but feels like a a proper “getaway”.
that’s a nice getaway! PD is also our preferred destination. Is Thistle better than Avillion?
Thistle is different as it doesn’t have chalets. Very new and clean. The room we stayed in was spacious. I think i still prefer Avillion because it is more family-friendly
Am looking forward to go to this hotel but its pricey right? Ashley must have lots of fun!

So was it fully booked since it’s the school holidays? I stayed in Thistle long time ago when it was still called Guoman haha. Still got the same daybed only they refurbished the rooms eh?
Ha, I was going to ask what Dinah’s just asked. Been to Thistle when it was called Guoman. I think Avillion is more children friendly with a small petting zoo, lo…
Heard from friends Guoman PD is haunted but not sure it’s true or not. An old lady and her little granddaughter were seen walking and then disappeared along the corridor of a certain floor on some nights. This place is believed to be a former graveyard.
I went to Thistle last year too. It was a nice place and the hotel room is spacious! Great holiday!
