Memories of my childhood

So we were back to Ipoh for a day recently for Tomb Sweeping. On the way out of the temple, we spotted some lotus seed pods for sale. I have not seen them for a very long time. It sure brings back memories. Hubs bought a stalk of them for missy to try. We used to eat them when we were kids. Have you tried these before?

I’ve not eaten it fresh before. How do you eat it? Back during my internship in China, I saw them selling it on the streets, and wonder what people use it for. haha

Hi, Thank you for your comment. All you have to do is just to open up the lotus pod. Then remove the seeds out. After that, just peel off the outer layer of the seed and pop it in your mouth. I think you can also find the lotus seeds in some of the desserts like Lin Chee Kang. They are white in colour 🙂
