Every day, we pass by a huge billboard along the highway which feature this advertisement.

Ashley would ask us if she can watch this show. Every single day. We do not plan to watch the Disney On Ice because the tickets are very expensive. Plus, we may visit Hong Kong Disneyland later so I guess we better wait till then
I think the lil missy will keep asking us when she can go see Princess Aurora until the billboard is taken down or till we step foot into Disneyland. *faint*

This is Ashley’s first time on a mini-carousel without her mommy…….hahahhahahahahaahaha. The first time she sat on one of these was at IOI Mall when she was 2. She hung on to me for dear life. The second time was when we were in Genting when she was 3. She cried throughout the ride
Actually, Ashley hardly sat on these kind of rides because this nazi mommy won’t allow her. Yeah…I know I am kinda crazy and I never let her go on these rides because I know she’ll ask to sit everytime she sees one. Maybe that’s why she cried last time eh?
This incident happened when we were back in Ipoh during CNY. When we were approaching these rides at the mall, my cousin asked Ashley if she would like to sit and she nodded. So, my cousin got some tokens and Ashley happily hopped onto the horse. There were 3 horses on the carousel and she went 3 rounds just to sit on different horses.

my first round

having a fun time

She’s on a roll here. After the carousel, she wanted to try the penguin ride. She did not even want to leave until daddy who was at another shop checking out the Acer Aspire came and asked her to get down

Primary education begins at the age of 7 right up to 12 years old. Children who were born in 2005 have to be registered at a local school this year. Honestly, I think we are the slackest parents. Last week, I saw Peggy’s FB status that she has registered Kylie in the primary school and later that day, I read Jazz’s blog about her hunt for Faythe’s primary school. I started to panic a bit (actually a lot) because we have not done anything. We have to be real early to register our kids as space is limited in the schools that we like. I quickly checked with Jazz on the school she picked for Faythe and then discussed with hubs on the school that he prefers.
Can you believe it? We have not even decided on the school to send her. My dad suggested that we enroll Ashley in a school in his neigbourhood since it’s nearer to our office. Oookay….so last Friday, after sending Ashley off to her kindergarten, we went to the said school armed with the following :-
1) Ashley’s Original Birth Certificate
2) Photocopies of the Birth Cert, our Identification Cards and a utility bill as they need to verify the address of the house
The registration process was pretty fast. I didn’t know they are so up-to-date now. I was shown a computer at the office where I need to key in all the personal particulars and then print out the form. Passed everything to the office staff and after she has compiled everything, we left. It took about 15 mins only.
Then we walked around the school to have a look. I think most parents would check out the school before registering their children but we are just the opposite. Slackers! It is a pretty big school with security guards at the entrance. There are many CCTVs installed around the school. I like that
I just wonder what is the situation like at the school entrance during dismissal. Maybe I ought to make a trip there to check it out. Just keeping my fingers crossed that Ashley would get to go to this school (results will be out next year) and that we made the right decision to send her to this one

Do you know what the lil missy is doing here?

She’s not practicing the medical coding training courses nor did she have a boo boo on her leg. The lil missy who is very into Disney Princesses now that when she saw a packet of Princess plaster at the pharmacy, insisted that she wants it. After a bit of Bollywood drama which involved some tears and loud voices, daddy bought it for her. RM6.90 for a box *shake head*

The different types of Princess band aids.

A happy camper with her princess band aid
She puts one band aid a day and insisted on going to school with it on her leg. I didn’t check to see how many are left in the box. Probably just a few at the rate she’s going.

This is a backdated post. A week before the Chinese New Year, I was at the pasar malam (night market) in my area and I saw a stall which sell many children’s clothing. I went to take a look and was happy to see that this stall is like those factory outlet stores….hehehehhehe. They sell mostly GAP, Old Navy, Gymboree and Disney brand clothes. Of course I started looking for some good deals for Ashley and managed to find a Gap hoodie for her. It cost rm13. Cheap eh?

Floral hoodie

I found another Gap sweater for rm15. Not bad huh?
I always love a good bargain like this
Today is Thursday and it’s Pasar Malam night. I hope the stall is open so that I can go look for more things

After reading about Dinah taking her kids on a train ride recently, I decided to bring Ashley on one too since she has not been on a train before. We took the LRT from Seri Petaling in the morning and headed to Central Market. I should have done some homework before hand and get off at Plaza Rakyat. What we did was took the LRT to Masjid Jamek and then change to Putra Line to Pasar Seni. It was not necessary as we could easily walk from Plaza Rakyat station to the Central Market. Anyway, Ashley was so excited when we were on the train. Everything fascinated her. She would ask questions about the cars on the roads, the buildings and even the motorhome towing signboard she saw while on the train.

Ashley sitting next to por por and looking pretty serious before the start of the journey.

looking out of the window when the train was moving
She was very excited when we had to get off this train and board another one to Pasar Seni. I haven’t been to Central Market for a few years and I am amazed with its new look. The stores are more organized and there are so many things to see there. Will blog about what we bought at Central Market in another post. On the way home, Ashley asked how come we did not ride on those ‘chugga chugga choo choo‘ train…..hahhaahahahaha. Where can we find those trains nowadays eh?

Since Ashley spends most of her afternoons in the office, we moved her wooden table and chairs there. This way, she would have a proper place to eat and do her homework. As a replacement, we bought her a set of Ikea Mammut Table and Chairs…..all in pink which she picked out herself. Of course she is delighted to have a new set of furniture in her favorite colour
They don’t go very well with our existing furniture but what to do eh?

The missy posing for the camera. She’s wearing her new pink hat which hub’s cousin bought for her

A place to eat and do her work at home
I wonder when she will get over her pink phase

After a one-week break, it’s back to the grind for us tomorrow
Got to wake up real early and head to work for us and back to school for Ashley. How I wish we could have holidays like this every month
Tomorrow morning before we drop Ashley off in school, we will head to our daily hangout – Toast & Coffee place.

a neat lil cafe which serve kopitiam style food

This is what I usually have in the morning. A cup of coffee.

Hubs would sometimes have 2 half-boiled eggs

Ashley drinks her milk at the cafe. She would have a piece of bread at home before we leave.

Normally when we are at the departmental store, hubs and I would go our separate ways. He would check out the men’s while I would go to the ladies department or children section. A couple of days ago, we did the same thing and hubs asked Ashley if she would like to follow him or me. The conversation went like this :-
Hubs : Ashley, do you want to follow me or mommy?
Ashley : Dad………..dy, do I look like a man? I am a girl so of course I will follow mommy to see the ladies clothes.
Both of us were speechless. Then the man grinned because he didn’t have to take care of the inquisitive soon-to-be five year old.

Yes, I am sassy

On the first day of the Chinese New Year, we headed back to Ipoh like we always did for a gathering at my aunt’s house. My mom and my aunt would cook up a storm for everyone who would be there to celebrate the CNY. We all had a great time catching up on everyone’s lives, chatted about everything from makeup to seo software. Ashley had a great time too and on that day, she wore another traditional costume which her kung kung bought.

Her qipao was in pink, her favourite colour
She’s wearing the head gear which my mom bought last year when she went to Beijing. Ashley looked like one of the Chinese Princess during the Qing Dynasty
She calls the headgear a pirate hat…..hahhahahhaaha. At first she didn’t want to wear the head gear because she said everyone would laugh at her. Then I told her that she looks like a Chinese Princess like Princess Aurora, Snow White and the 2 other princesses, so she quickly put it on
