We went out real early on Sunday and head to Midvalley for the Maybank Treats Fair. Sunday was the last day and by 11am, the exhibition hall where the fair was held, was in total madness. We walked around a few times, trying to decide what to redeem. Alas, I couldn’t find what I like
As soon as hubs saw this, he knew he had to get it for his princess

V Smile Pocket

A pink one which comes with a cinderella game
Unfortunately, we cannot use any points to redeem the V Smile Pocket. However, we can buy it at a discounted price of rm200 plus. About a year ago when hubs checked this portable game console out at ToysRus, it was selling at around rm400. This V Smile Pocket is fun and helps kids to learn skills like spelling, counting and problem solving.

Daddy teaching his princess how to play some games. Needless to say, Ashley is pretty hooked on this new toy

Yesterday while I was looking up some information on how to order Phentermine, Ashley told me that she wants to finish her homework. So, I went to her table to see what she was doing. I saw her taking out an odd looking eraser from her pencil case and when I looked further, I found a few small erasers in there.
Me : “Ashley, who gave you all these erasers?”
Ashley : *she rattled off a few names of her friends*
Me : “Why did they give you?”
Ashley : “They don’t like the erasers so they gave me”
Me : “Oh, so you like them?”
Ashley : “YES”
She gave me a sheepish smile and said, “Mommy,I am a garbage collector!”
*slaps forehead*

Her friends’ leftover erasers which she’s keeping in her pencil case

Ashley loves visiting shops that sell hair accessories. Such a vainpot eh? Well, blame it on me because I love to buy hair clips for Ashley. However, it is not easy to find really unique ones and when I saw some at Pretty Xtras, I was giddy with excitement. These are what I bought.

There are just too many things to buy when you have a girl
Of course daddy was shaking his head when he found out that I have bought them

I was at the market over the weekend and came across this book of tattoos selling at the stall which normally sell children’s toys. Ashley didn’t ask for it but I bought it for her because she’s so into these cute tattoos now

RM3 a book

Cute stars, moon and fishes

colourful flowers and insects

Ashley quickly asked me to put a dolphin tattoo on her arm. It’s very easy to apply. Just cut out the shape you like, remove the thin film, put it face down onto the skin, use a sponge to wet the tattoo and gently remove the backing paper. Well, I guess we’ll be seeing lots of different tattoos on the lil missy these coming weeks. She wanted to stick one on hubs’ tummy but of course it’s a no no. I think if he had done any ab workout, I am sure he won’t mind showing off one or two eh
If any of you would like to get this tattoo stickers for your kids, do let me know. I can buy and send it to you

I have been looking around for a dance class for Ashley ever since she stopped her Yamaha Junior Music Class (JMC) early this year. A few weeks ago, I saw some banners near my home regarding Hip Hop Dance lessons for children and quickly made arrangements for Ashley to try it out. Last week, we went for the trial class and she told me that she likes it. The lessons are conducted once a week (7pm to 8pm) and the fee is RM70 a month. Below are some photos taken during the warm-up section. Parents are only allowed to be in the dance room for 5 minutes. The teacher does not want the children to be distracted.

trying to straighten the leg

more stretching
Yesterday we went to the class for her first dance lesson and guess what? The missy came out of the room 10 minutes before dismissal. She said she wanted to go home. I asked the teacher what happened and she said she doesn’t know. The missy also was not paying attention in class and she wanted to do her own thing
When we went home, I asked her why she did not pay attention and wanted to leave early. She told me that she didn’t like the music that was being played. Also, she said they were not like the MTV music videos she has been watching on the HDTV *slaps forehead* I hope she will behave better next week and doesn’t give me a headache.

Kids these days are so lucky. At almost all the parties that we attended, we would find the performance of a clown or an entertainer, a balloonist, face or hand painter. Ashley’s first encounter with a hand painter was when we attended the birthday party of my friend’s children in the beginning of the year. She patiently waited in line for her turn to have her hand painted.

She chose a butterfly tattoo

and a pink Hello Kitty with blue ribbon

Then recently when we attended Jaclyn’s baby boy, Stuart’s 100 day old party, there was a hand painter there too. Ashley was very excited and she got a pretty flower painting on her hand.

She got another cute flower sticker tattoo on her upper arm. The lil missy asked me how come the lady painter does not know how to draw an Ultraman because that was what she wanted on her arm *slaps forehead*

This is a continuation of Ashley’s first pets post. The next morning when we came downstairs, we found both the fishes lying on the floor. Yup, they jumped out of the tank and committed kamikaze. The lil missy was in tears and asked what happened. Well, I read somewhere that pets such as fishes are great to teach children about life and death in the world. So I tried to explain that the fishes jumped out of the tank because the tank didn’t have a cover and they died because there was no water (As you can see, I really don’t know how to tell her about life and death). We told her that we will buy another pair later in the evening. She was ok afterwards.

A swordtail fish lying on the floor. This is not ours but I got this image from google.
When I was a kid, my favourite TV show was The Cosby Show. I remember one episode where Rudy Huxtable’s pet goldfish, Lamont died and the family decided to give it a proper funeral. They all dressed up and said a few words before flushing Lamont down the toilet.

Rudy’s pet goldfish – Lamont, about to be flushed down the toilet
Therefore, I asked hubs if we should give Upin & Ipin a proper funeral so that Ashley would have a closure. He just rolled his eyes and threw them into the garbage bag *shake head* So…we did buy another pair of Upin & Ipin later in the evening. Guess what? The next day, they jumped out again eventhough we tried to cover the tank with a badminton racket. We left some opening at the side of the tank for oxygen and somehow the fishes managed to jump out. This time, Ashley didn’t cry but said, “Let’s go buy some fishes”…..muahahahahahahahaaaha. We decided not to buy anymore Swordtail fishes. We bought 4 guppies instead and they are still swimming happily in the tank now. Annie & Elaine, are you guys still laughing?

This is a backdated post. A week before the Chinese New Year, I was at the pasar malam (night market) in my area and I saw a stall which sell many children’s clothing. I went to take a look and was happy to see that this stall is like those factory outlet stores….hehehehhehe. They sell mostly GAP, Old Navy, Gymboree and Disney brand clothes. Of course I started looking for some good deals for Ashley and managed to find a Gap hoodie for her. It cost rm13. Cheap eh?

Floral hoodie

I found another Gap sweater for rm15. Not bad huh?
I always love a good bargain like this
Today is Thursday and it’s Pasar Malam night. I hope the stall is open so that I can go look for more things

After the first week of school, I noticed that most children in Ashley’s kindy wear white shoes and white socks to school….you know, the type worn by the primary and secondary students. Upon checking with another parent, I found out that one of the rules of this school is that all children must wear white shoes and white socks. My bad. I didn’t read the leaflet properly. Ashley has been wearing her princess-like shoes and pink/white socks to school
Last Friday, we decided to head down to Carrefour and look for a pair of school shoes for her. I found this -

a pair of cute mary-jane style shoes.
Ashley likes this a lot and so do I. How come they didn’t have this design when I was a kid? I think I have to get her another pair as spare because she came back with her shoes all dirty today. And today is only Monday
