When I was pregnant with Ashley, I remember reading about playing music or reading to the child in the womb which assist in their mental development. As parents, we all want to do the best for our children. Besides teaching a child before he or she is born, the physical environment of the womb as well as the whole of the mother’s body is critical to a child’s growth and development.
In order for a healthy pregnancy, mothers must eat a balance diet which consists of fresh vegetables and fruit. Eating fish is good too as fish contains essential fatty acids that are known to boost brain growth. Another way of ensuring good nutrition during pregnancy is to eat or drink at least three servings of dairy products and food rich in calcium a day. Extra calcium is required for bone growth and teeth formation in the child.
Mamil Mama which consist of IMMUNOFORCE is specially formulated to take care of the special needs of women who are planning to have babies, expecting and lactating mothers. IMMUNOFORCE is a clinically proven prebiotic which helps to fight harmful bacteria growth in the gut by increasing good bacteria growth.
Mamil Mama is fortified with many nutrients to help women stay strong and healthy during and after pregnancy. This is highly important to ensure the healthy development of the foetus as well as the child when they breastfeed. Get Mamil Mama with IMMUNOFORCE today to give your child a solid foundation.

Whenever some of our relatives meet Ashley, they would comment that she is not putting on weight. She is growing taller but not chubbier. My concern is not so much about her weight. I just want Ashley to have a strong immune system. Kids are exposed to bacteria and viruses in their daily lives. It is easy for them to end up sick constantly. One of my least favourite times as a parent is when I see my child gets sick. It is heartbreaking when our child has fever, lethargic and lost his/her appetite. The key to a healthy child is a strong immune system.

Besides encouraging her to eat her fruits daily, drink plenty of water and have a good amount of rest, I have also switched her milk powder to the new Mamil Gold Step 4 recently. Mamil Gold growing up milk powder has just unveiled a new formula and now contains more than 5 times DHA for developing brain, essential vitamins and minerals as well as increased IMMUNOFORCE levels
You see, a large part of the immune system lies in the gut and it is filled with good bacteria to help fight the unwelcome invaders. Mamil Gold’s new IMMUNOFORCE is a mixture of Oligosaccharides which are like food to the good bacteria in the gut. Mamil Gold has the perfect combination of ingredients to support the child’s natural defenses. A healthy child is a happy child.

I have been having salads for dinner since a few months ago. My weight is still the same despite that so I have switched to having salads for lunch as well. This means I have 2 salads a day and a piece of wholemeal bread for breakfast. I usually eat like this from Monday to Friday. During the weekend, I allow myself to have other food like noodles
Now back to my salads. Sometimes I’ll get the roast chicken from the supermarket and make myself a roast chicken salad. At times, I would fry a sausage or ham. Not very healthy eh? Once in a while I’ll have these…

pork chop salad

Chicken satay with my veges. This is only on Thursday when it’s pasar malam (night market) day in my neighbourhood.
I don’t know when I’ll stop eating salad. Hopefully I can lose some weight before I get bored with them

Every morning after I have dressed Ashley up for school, we would go downstairs where I would give her some water to drink. Then I’ll start preparing her breakfast which is usually bread with jam. Ashley will have her milk about half an hour later at the coffeeshop where we go to every morning before sending her to school.

I also prepare a snack for her to eat in school. It could be a piece of bread with jam, cereals like Fruit Loops or Honey stars or her favourite garlic bread/sausage bun from the bakery near my home . I put them in her pink container which I got from Daiso. Just the other day, one of her classmates celebrated his birthday in school and Ashley was given a piece of cake. She couldn’t finish the cake and brought it home in her container. Guess what? The chocolate cake which is full of cream spilled into her bag because she doesn’t know how to close the container properly. It is actually quite hard to close
I had to clean her bag thoroughly and wipe away all the cream from her bag *pulls hair*
When I went to buy Mamil Gold yesterday, they gave me a free lunch box. It is so cute and Ashley told me immediately that she wants to bring the lunch box to school this week. The lunch box is air-tight and most importantly, easy to close. It states on the brochure (or promotional banner) that the free lunch box promotion runs from 1 May until 31 May.

Since we are on the subject of milk powder, have you seen The Three Little Houses TV commercial by Mama Mil? Ashley enjoys this commercial very much and she kept playing it over and over again as it is entertaining. It features children wearing cut-out boxes depicting different houses and only one house is the strongest of all. She told me that the video is like the story of The Three Little Pigs. You know, the three little piggies who built 3 different types of houses hoping that the wolf would not be able to blow it down? In the end, the brick house is the strongest to withstand the wolf’s huffing and puffing, just like children who have strong immune system will be able to fight off germs, viruses and bacteria. Ashley said she wants to be strong like the boy in the brick house. She even told me to make her a brick house *shake head* Check out the video when you have the time. I am sure your little ones will enjoy it.

Each time when we make a trip back to Ipoh, I would stop by this place to buy some delicious cakes. JJ Cakes is getting pretty famous now and the shop is usually packed with customers. The delicious cakes and swiss rolls are homemade, low in sugar and contain no preservatives. The cakes are very fresh, soft and fluffly. JJ Cakes’ bestsellers are Fresh Durian, Coffee Walnut, Choc Hazelnut and Durian. My tummy is growling as I type this post. Wish I can stuff myself silly with these cakes every day and maybe take the hcg shots for weight loss after that

JJ Cake Shop

I bought a durian and a chempedak roll. I always say that I want to try the other flavours but each time, I’ll end up with the same ones. They also have mini cake rolls in a few flavours. I got a box for Ashley and she loves the chocolate, coffee and vanilla, not the pandan ones though. It has a pungent pandan smell.

This is the Chempedak roll. Check out the generous amount of chempedak filling. Yums!
Here is the address and contact number if you would like to get some of these delicious cakes when you are in Ipoh.

And so far, I have lost 15 days……hahahahahahah
On a more serious note…..
Remember my wish for a Reebok Trainer last Christmas? Well Santa sent one to me and since then, I have been exercising on it every day, if not 5 times a week. I started with 3km a day and now I hit between 8k to 10 km a day, depending on my mood
It does feel good to exercise. However, I don’t see my weight going down *sad*. I don’t eat a lot or snack in between meals thus this is puzzling. Anyway, a few days ago while I was looking for prescription glasses online, Elaine buzzed me and we chatted for a while. She told me that she was going to make a salad for dinner because it’s fuss-free. It then dawned on me that perhaps I should have salad every night for dinner. Maybe, just maybe, my weight will go down if I cut back on my food intake while continuing with the exercise? I started having this 2 nights ago…

Fresh garden salad from Tesco

My own dressing – a lil bit of olive oil, some lemon juice and a dash of sea salt. It is delish!

My dinner. I added some ham into the salad. I can also have this with an egg, tuna or chicken meat.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that my weight will go down. Going to try this for a month and see how. Wish me luck!

We went for a birthday dinner at a Chinese Restaurant on Saturday and when they serve peanuts at the table, I couldn’t resist not taking a few of them. Guess what? The next morning, I noticed a pimple on my chin and one on my ear. Without fail, whenever I eat peanuts, I get pimples. Luckily there is no major breakout. Just one or two pimples which is caused by Androgen hormones. I read about this some time ago but have forgotten where. Acne is a big problem for many people. If you suffer from them and would like to find the best acne treatment, you may want to go through the acsonix reviews for more information.

‘Chap Goh Mei’ (The 15th day of the Lunar Chinese New Year) was celebrated last Thursday. This means Chinese New Year celebration is over. Things are back to normal now. I think most people would have taken down all the Chinese New Year decors around the house but not me. The hanging red packet lanterns and flower tree are still there. Also, not forgetting all the cookies. Some of them are unopened. Diet pills that work fast are what I need now.

Someone I know is taking Appetite suppressant diet pills. According to the doctor who prescribed the pills to him, there is a whole list of side effects. One may experience dryness in mouth, headache and even lack of sleep. While this person did not experience any headache, he drank a lot of water due to mouth dryness and also he does not feel sleepy at night. I think the appetite suppressant diet pills may contain caffeine. It has been a week since he started taking the pills and I was told that he has lost about 3 kg. Amazing eh?

Are you a big fan of “Tai Kau Meen“, also known as Chinese Pancake that is filled with peanuts and sugar? I quite like them and would sometimes buy a piece from the Night Market. Diet pills fat burners is what I would need if I were to eat this often. Last Thursday, my mom bought a piece of ‘healthy’ “Tai Kau Meen” from the Night Market. Why healthy? Well it is made from five grains flour. You can see the unique texture on the skin of the pancake. It contains grains and nuts. This is the first time I came across something like this. Can you also see the green colour on the inside? That is because it is pandan flavoured. My mom said it tasted good. It cost RM1.10 a piece while a regular one cost RM0.80 a piece. Would you care to try one if you see it?
