Have you been listening to our local radio stations lately? It seems that many of them are being very generous these days. MyFM, LiteFM, MixFM and RedFM are giving out money to their listeners everyday. MyFM is giving out RM50 to the winner of their mathematics calculations and LiteFM is giving out a whopping RM5k to the person who can guess all 5 songs and 5 singers correctly. As for MixFM, they are offering to pay the callers’ credit card bills and RedFM is giving away RM50k to the person who can name the title of the song and artiste correctly. Of course there is a catch and you would have to listen to the radio station all day. I hardly listen to the radio except in the morning while driving to work. Once in the office, there is no way I could listen to the radio. I don’t even have time to find out about how nutrisystem works. What about you? Have you tried your luck at these radio stations?
This is a continuation of our trip on Saturday. After we checked out the strawberries, we went to the Mushroom Farm which was located inside the Strawberry Farm. This place is pretty interesting and educational too. I have never seen a mushroom farm before. Inside the farm, there are racks and racks of mushrooms grown inside small bags. Several varieties of mushrooms are grown here and they can be bought from the shop next to it.
After that, hubs suggested that we make a trip to the Land of Gamblers (Genting Highland) since we were already halfway up the hill. So off we went and I’m glad we made the trip because it was very cooling in Genting….I think it was around 22 deg Celcius that day. Gorgeous weather. If only KL is like this everyday. This time around, Ashley was looking forward to the ferries wheel, boat ride, roller coaster at the indoor theme park. However, she didn’t get a chance to enjoy them because the queue to purchase the tickets were extremely long. The lines for waiting for the rides were equally long. She was disappointed and cried. Daddy couldn’t bear to see his princess crying so he brought her to the arcade and let her have some fun at the coin-operated machines. Ashley had a great time tossing balls, playing with the stainless steel drums, testing her driving skills and more.

Ashley would ask us if she can watch this show. Every single day. We do not plan to watch the Disney On Ice because the tickets are very expensive. Plus, we may visit Hong Kong Disneyland later so I guess we better wait till then I think the lil missy will keep asking us when she can go see Princess Aurora until the billboard is taken down or till we step foot into Disneyland. *faint*
First it was Barney, the purple dinosaur and now it’s Dibo, the purple Gift Dragon. This is Ashley’s fav cartoon now. Dibo lives in Cozyland with his friends and he is always granting wishes. Whenever Dibo hears his friends wishing for something, he would start singing the Make A Wish song. At the end of the song, Dibo would always say, “Say Your Wish…..”
Whenever she hears this question from Dibo, Ashley would say, “I want a Barney Watch, Dibo“. She has been saying this for months already. We know she really like to have one and have been searching high and low for it. Strange that Barney watches are not popular compared to Barbie, Princess, Cars, Ben 10 and Mickey Mouse. We saw them on ebay but I was not keen to buy cos the watch may get stolen on the way to our address. Imagine our happiness yesterday when we finally saw the Barney watch at Speedy Videos. Yes, of all the places huh? Without hesitation, we got it and the price? RM9.90 cheap eh?

I have just started to watch The Stew of Life online, one of the latest TVB family comedy drama. During Episode 1, Fala Chen asked her mom, Louise Lee if she could have some Papaya and Snow Fungus dessert. Ahhh…..after watching her savour the dessert, I decided to make it myself I googled and found the recipe here.
Ingredients:
1. Papaya
2. Snow fungus
3. Sweet and bitter almonds
4. Cane sugar (I used Rock Sugar)
Method:
1. Soak the white fungus in cold water. (Take note, they will expand in size after soaking.)
2. Cut and deseed the papaya
3. Put everything into the pot and boil. (I boiled it under low heat for over 2 hours)
4. Add in desire amount of sugar to taste
A medium-sized papaya, rock sugar and sweet/bitter Chinese almonds (available at the Chinese Medical shop). I totally forgot about the snow fungus till an hour after I boiled this dessert. Luckily I had some in the fridge
Put everything into a pot and bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer for 2 hours. You can even cook them in a crock pot. Serve warm or chill.
The Papaya White Fungus dessert is one of the more nourishing Chinese desserts. Show fungus are good for nourishing the lungs and the sweet/bitter almonds heal cough and expel phlegm. Can’t wait to drink this dessert while enjoying The Stew of Life
