nivniv Handmade is a new kid on the children’s wear block. The products in nivniv are designed and sew by this very talented mommy of 2 cute kiddos. When I first saw how she refashioned some clothings and accessories for her 2 children, I actually asked her if she has any intention to sell them
So, when this talented mommy finally opened her blogshop, I was giddy with excitement
Her collection of sun dresses, skirts, hair clips and kiddos bags are fun and funky. They are made with amazingly beautiful fabric and I love how she mix and matches the fabrics. When I saw the adorable Mod Red Sundress, I knew Ashley would look nice in it.

This is Ashley’s first sundress and it comes with a set of matching hairclips. Love the fabric.

love the sweet tag which came with the dress

I even bought the Fluttering Hearts hairclips and the Heart & Ribbon hairclip for the lil missy.
All items by nivniv are lovingly handmade with quality materials in a smoke-free and pet-free environment. So, if you are looking for the cute and the unusual, just head over to nivniv Handmade.

We were getting ready to go out for dinner last Sunday night when I heard Ashley saying this to her super hero daddy.
Ashley : Daddy, are you wearing this shorts (tonight)?
Hubs : Yes I am.
Ashley : You have to change daddy. You cannot wear shorts when we go out.
I was trying hard not to laugh out loud when I heard that. I remember saying the same thing to my hubs not too long ago and I guess the lil missy heard it. Ahhh….I don’t have to nag tell my hubby what to do anymore. I have an assistant now
So, did hubs change into long pants that night? You bet he did. Anything for his princess……..muahahahahahahaaha

I wear a lot of black tops because black makes me look slimmer is my favourite colour. Sometimes when I’m in the mood, I would wear a necklace to jazz up my black outfit. Then when I first saw Sewingmonster’s flower brooch on the sling bag, I had an idea. Why not get a brooch for my black tops? So, I asked the SewingMonster to please make me a flower brooch with the Japanese cotton fabric
I love this fabric. Here is how it turned out

I love shopping for pretty skirts for Ashley as I love to see her wearing skirts. Actually she only started liking skirts late last year
What about your daughters? Do they love wearing skirts? If yes, then you ought to hop over to Sewing Monster and check out some flowy and pretty skirts. Each skirt is made with much care, attention to details and last but not least, lots of love.

Playfully pretty! This skirt has a cute pink ribbon as an accent.

Hurry over to Sewing Monster for skirts that are perfect for twirling and playing
Oh, besides skirts, you may also find a few surprises there.

My cousin will be having her wedding reception next month and I have been busy shopping for something to wear. It is so hard to find the right clothes when you are looking. I have been going in and out of the stores and tried on at least 12 to 15 outfits but still couldn’t find one which I like. For hubs, it’s a different story. He does not sweat when it comes to shopping for clothes. He can just get any of those men’s polo shirts or long-sleeve shirts. Pretty easy huh? Well, I am going shopping again this weekend. Hopefully I will be able to find something I like. Next on my list is strappy heels *shake head*.

Since Ashley is in the ‘Princess’ phase, she loves wearing skirts. Of course this gives her shopaholic mommy more excuse to excuse. Sadly, I haven’t been able to find skirts that I like (affordable and nice). The local brands like Poney are way too expensive. I also can’t find at The Brands or FOS. So, I asked this talented mama if she could sew one for Ashley
I told her what kind of designs I like and she let me choose the fabric.

After sewing day and night some magic touch, voila…..

Ashley’s handmade skirt by Auntie Sasha. Nice? I like the patchwork design and mix & match fabric.

A very reluctant Yoga Tree pose for the camera
Ashley’s skirt is Sasha’s 2nd Skirt Project. She made a denim one earlier. She also made a few more pretty skirts after this, even one for herself. If you are looking for some pretty skirts for your princess(es), you can get Sasha, the talented mommy of 2 to sew them. Do drop me a comment if you would like to get her email addy

Last weekend when we were at the market, Ashley came across a stall which sells lots of toys, Disney character colouring/sticker books, pencil boxes and bags. As soon as she laid her eyes on the pink Princess bag, I knew she would ask to buy it because she has been asking for a bag *roll eyes*

Yes, I eventually bought it for her because she went on and on about the bag. Thank God it’s only RM5 (not authentic)

Ms. Vainpot loves the bag so much that she has been taking the bag out whenever we go out, even to the market. She has been stuffing a lot of things in her bag and when I checked, these are what I found -

A Barbie bag which we bought for her during Chinese New Year because we couldn’t find a Princess one then, daddy’s old mobile phone, a Barney wallet, a notepad and yes, a dog bone. Can you believe this? A dog bone? My sister bought this bone for the missy’s toy dog. Will blog about this in another post
I had a good laugh when I saw the bone. Nope….we are not allowed to remove anything from her Princess bag. I bet the bag weigh at least 1 pound if we were to weigh it on one of those scales. Ashley told me that she loves this bag and she looks just like me when she goes out *shake head* Oh, she doesn’t like to sling it. Instead she wants it on her shoulder……just like mommy.

This is a backdated post. A week before the Chinese New Year, I was at the pasar malam (night market) in my area and I saw a stall which sell many children’s clothing. I went to take a look and was happy to see that this stall is like those factory outlet stores….hehehehhehe. They sell mostly GAP, Old Navy, Gymboree and Disney brand clothes. Of course I started looking for some good deals for Ashley and managed to find a Gap hoodie for her. It cost rm13. Cheap eh?

Floral hoodie

I found another Gap sweater for rm15. Not bad huh?
I always love a good bargain like this
Today is Thursday and it’s Pasar Malam night. I hope the stall is open so that I can go look for more things

We went shopping at IOI mall about 2 weeks ago for new Chinese New Year clothes. Alas I couldn’t find anything for myself but Ashley got something from her por por. My mom bought her a lovely denim skirt from The Brands outlet. I like the flower design on the skirt and what’s great is that the skirt has adjustable waist.

Ashley’s denim skirt for CNY

Ashley loves to wear this kind of black shoes with a little heel and she calls them her dancing shoes (like those tap dancers). My mom bought her this pair of black shoes from Jusco.
The lil missy has a few sets of new clothes to welcome the new year. Kids these days are so lucky huh? Stay tuned later for what she’s going to wear on the first day of the Lunar Year (as if this is a fashion blog…….heheheheheheheh)

Every year on the first day of the Chinese New Year, I would let Ashley wear a traditional clothing. It has been like a tradition already
Most of them were bought by her ‘kung kung’
I was looking at the albums in the computer and managed to find the photos of Ashley wearing traditional clothes during CNY from 2006 until now.

CNY 2006. Ashley’s first CNY with her por por.

CNY 2007 wearing a qi pao

CNY 2008 wearing an orange top and skirt which I bought from Yvonne

CNY 2009 wearing a pink ’sam fu’
This year will be the same too. However we have yet to see her clothes as my dad is still in Hong Kong now. Will be back later today with the CNY clothes for his princess grand-daughter
