Elaine suggested a zoo trip last Wednesday since it was a Public Holiday. Ashley has not been to the zoo before and she was so excited. We only told her about the trip the night before so that she won’t keep asking about it
On that day, she woke up real early and asked us to wake up fast so we can all go to the zoo

Ashley, Amber and Sharon at their first stop – The Giraffes

They were in awed

Ashley was looking forward to seeing the Flamingoes. It’s her favourite because they are pink. However, we saw these birds which I think are storks? I told her they are flamingoes….hhahahahahaha. Wrong info.
We saw many animals that day. Here are some photos taken from Elaine’s.

Tapir. Such a cute animal.

The lion

Water lizards but they look like komodo dragons to me

Good friends
We managed to see penguins, reptiles and some mammals like cows, deers, etc. Oh, we sat on the buggy too and it took us around to see the camels, hippos, flamingoes before stopping at the amphitheater to catch the last bit of the seal show. It was almost 12 when we left the zoo. The trip to the zoo was very enjoyable and the weather was nice to us. However Ashley was quite upset that she didn’t get to see the zebras and orang utans. We plan to go back again soon.

Ashley is such a lucky girl. She received another present a few days ago

The present is from dear Aunty Pei Yi, HQ and QQ

It is a beautiful knapsack which was handmade by Aunty Pei Yi. I love the pink polka dot fabric which is just perfect for a girl who loves pink. Another great thing about the knapsack is the dog applique which was handsewn onto it by Pei Yi. Ashley loves dogs and her eyes lit up as soon as she saw it.

This knapsack is called BowWow and is available for sale at nivniv Handmade. Made from 100% Indian cotton, this knapsack features a huge pocket on the inside as well as matching cotton fabric as lining.

Here is Ashley using the BowWow knapsack. She brought it to school yesterday as it was her tea party day. She said she wants to show her friends her cute Labrador bag
Thank you very much Pei Yi, HQ & QQ. Everyone who saw the bag exclaimed how beautiful the bag is. This delightful knapsack is perfect for the library, swimming, music lessons and more. The applique picture on the bag can be personalized according to what your child likes.

love the d-i-y paper bags

a lil note from Kerry, the owner of Bow N Ribbon. She’s so sweet to send some gifts to Ashley.

Look at the pretty pom pom hair tie and clippies which she handmade them using grosgrain ribbons. Kerry also sent a set of pink hair bands for Ashley.

Ashley was so excited to see the beautiful gifts from Kerry. She quickly asked me to tie her hair with the colourful hair tie. Thank you very much for the gifts, Kerry. You are so thoughtful. Ashley says Thank You too.

Thanks for all your kind get-well wishes for Ashley. She is making good progress and can be discharged on Tuesday. Her wound is healing and there is no more pus. She cried less today when the doctor did the dressing. He said she’ll only need the normal dressing tomorrow and there is no need to put any packing on the wound

Her Royal Highness Crankiness on the first day. She loves sitting on the wheelchair and being wheeled around the children’s ward and even to the cafeteria.

See who came to visit? Ashley’s boyfriends, Cruz and Fearles. The 3 of them were busy playing with the iPhone

Aunty Annie and Aunty Elaine are ever so thoughtful. They bought gifts for Ashley to cheer her up. Here is a DIY Origami Flower set which is sure going to keep us busy during the school holidays.

Last but not least, some sparkly accessories for the princess wannabe
Thank you very much Annie and Elaine. Ashley was so happy to see her friends and the pressies definitely bring a smile to her face

Many months ago, I wrote about my friend’s baby boy’s problem with eczema. His hands and body were covered with eczema and it was heartbreaking to see him like that. After reading my post, a few of my blog readers were so kind to email me with some advice and where to find eczema cream that works.I was so touched by their kindness. I told them that I would pass the message to my friend. Guess what? My friend did not reply to my email or the message in facebook. Oh well, so much for wanting to help people. I hope her son no longer suffers from eczema. I do see their photos in facebook sometimes but her baby is always wearing long sleeves hence I can’t really see his hands.

My friend, Junko returned to Japan for a holiday recently. She came back last week and bought Ashley a lovely set of ‘Jinbei’. I didn’t know what it was called until I googled for information
It is a kimono wrap style top with a pair of matching shorts and adjustable ribbon ties at the side. Jinbei is a traditional Japanese summer clothes. I love the colour and the prints of this Jinbei. The fabric is very soft and I think it is very comfortable.

Ashley trying out the new outfit. Konichiwa!

Another cheeky pose from her

On Saturday, Annie and Elaine dropped by our house and everyone had a fun time. First we went to the market nearby for some shopping and then proceeded to have breakfast at one of the coffee shops. Then the kids went back to house to play while Annie and Elaine did more shopping. Here’s what the kids did while the mommies were out shopping.

Check out Amber’s and Ashley’s lips. They decided to put some lipstick on. Ashley trying not to look at the camera

Fearles was busy playing the Vtech game console

Cruz found Mr. Bean and I think he was trying to open Mr. Bean’s mouth

When Amber was wearing the purple flower skirt which Sasha made, Ashley wanted to wear one and be a princess too. Thank God Sasha made another pink one which I have kept in the closet. So I quickly brought it out and both girls are happy wearing their Princess skirts.
After playing for a while, all of us proceeded to the 100 Yen shop in Kuchai Lama for more shopping and then to Shireen‘s place. You can read more at Annie’s blog and Elaine’s blog

We were at Fearles’ & Cruz’s birthday party recently and the kids (Fearles, Cruz, Tessa and Ashley) sat together for dinner. I was seated at the next table and when I turned to look at Ashley, I had to take a photo because……

Ashley sat with her leg crossed…..muahahahahaahahhahah. What a big change from how she sits at home sometimes. She likes to put one leg up on her chair when she’s eating her food. Yes, horrifying. My grandmother used to reprimand us when we were kids to never sit like that. Sometimes Ashley would even shake her leg *faint* We’ll scream at remind her to always put her legs down or stop shaking when that happens. So yes, I was surprised to see her sitting like a lady. Wonder where she learned that because her mommy doesn’t sit with her legs crossed
