Last Christmas, hubs Santa gave Ashley a pair of Barbie roller skates. Actually they are rollers with straps to be attached to the shoes. I didn’t know Santa would give her this present. He said she told him that she wished she had a pair of roller skates
Of course the missy was happy when she saw the gift.

I was a bit worried that she may fall and hurt herself. Yeah, I’m a Worrier Mum while daddy is the cool one. In case you don’t know, I am a Helicopter Mum too…always hovering out there
Anyway, after a week or so, Ashley mastered the art of skating.

Yay…the happy one zipping around the house. Dressed in pink from top to toe *slap forehead* She is waiting for us to take her to the park to skate. I don’t think our park is “skate-friendly’ though

I mentioned in my earlier post that I met up with some special people during our trip back to Ipoh for Chinese New Year. I got to know them through blogging and we have been ‘online’ friends for a few years already. We planned to meet up last year but at the last minute, there was a change of plans and we couldn’t meet up. So this year, I was determined to drop by and meet these lovely people.

Can you guess where this place is? I love these beautiful century-old shady rain trees in this lake garden. Some of the branches even went across to the other side of the road. That’s the hometown of my dear friends. We were in beautiful Taiping on Day 3 of the CNY.

I finally got to meet the 4 pretty ladies in Taiping. They are Sheoh Yan, Yvonne, Angeline and Hayley.

Ashley with cute Avery, Yvonne’s daughter. These 2 girls were so shy and didn’t even talk much.

Besides treating us to a sumptuous meal, these ladies even gave us some delicious cookies from Taiping. I also received a nice top from them. Forgot to snap a pic of it though.
Thank you very much for your hospitality. It was great to finally meet my dear friends from Taiping. I hope to meet all of you more often. Taiping is such a lovely town. So peaceful and scenic. It has been more than 8 years since I last visited Taiping. We’ll definitely be back

This is another post about my birthday. Sorry to bore you all. Just want to record everything down for memories
Last Saturday, my buddies, Annie and Elaine had a belated celebration with me. We went to a seafood restaurant in Taman Midah for dinner. Annie’s birthday is also in January so it was an early birthday celebration with her too.

Birthday cake baked by dear Elaine for us. Awesome cake made with love!

Our yummy seafood dinner which consists of steam crabs with eggs, lala with noodles, succulent prawns, vegetable and sweet and sour pork.

A beautiful pearl necklace, a Jamie Oliver Cookbook and another set of accessories. The ladies know how much I love pearls and Jamie Oliver
Thank you very much my dear buddies
It was wonderful to celebrate my birthday with all of you.

….. instead of making lemonade, why not make Lemon Foot Scrub? I decided to give it a try after seeing the steps online

Here are the Ingredients :-
1/2 cup sea salt
1/2 cup olive oil/vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
1/2 teaspoon orange zest

Pour salt into a bowl and slowly drizzle in the oil. You may not need all that is called for in the recipe.

Then add in 1 tsp of lemon zest and 1 tsp of orange zest

Mix well.

Pour the mixture into an airtight container. I got some Spice Jar from Ikea just for that. Made a few bottles for my guinea pigs dear friends recently.
Scrubs are great for exfoliating the skin. Its rough texture helps to remove toxins and dead skin that may be blocking the pores. Let me know if you want to whip up this easy DIY Lemon Sea Salt Foot Scrub. Happy weekend everyone!

The next 2 weeks is a busy one for us. There is a full-moon party and 2 birthdays coming up. It is time to shop for presents and the best part is wrapping them. You know how much I love wrapping presents eh? Got to start getting creative. I have gotten ready something for one of the gift-wrapping projects. Below is a stack of Japanese fancy paper which I got from Daiso, pieces of cardboard from a recycled mooncake box that I have cut up using a box cutter and hand-drawn baby elephants as template.

Do stay tuned for more

Recently, we bought a gift for a little girl. I wrapped the gift in kraft paper (my favourite wrapper) and decided to decorate it. This time, I created a ballerina with a pink tutu skirt

Firstly, I cut out the bodice from a white card. Not very well drawn as you can see

Then I used a pink tissue paper as the tutu.

Crumple up the tissue paper from one end to the other and fold it into half

Cut out a small piece of pink ribbon as the waist

the little ballerina is formed

I used the white lace sticker which I bought from Mr. DIY to decorate the border

Tadaa….a homemade ballerina as a gift decor

I enjoy shopping very much, especially online shopping at US based stores. Not only is it convenient, I can have access to products from around the world. It is also cheaper to shop online than going to an actual store. I can also send gifts to family and friends without leaving my home. One of my all-time favourite stores is Zappos. I can spend hours on this online store. Another thing which I love about shopping online is the great savings with coupons from BestOnlineCoupons.com. This online coupon service site offers thousands of coupons from hundreds of online stores like Macy’s, Old Navy, Target, Walmart, Red Envelope, Babies R Us and etc. Of course, my favourite is always Zappos coupons.
I just saw one of the special deals available – Save Up To 75% Off Retail at 6pm. Awesome eh? With Zappos coupon code, you can get great discounts on shoes, clothing and accessories. Well, if you are like me who just cannot get enough of shoes and handbags, you may want to look for the Endless Shoes and Handbags coupons. There is up to 45% off all sandals for men, women and children. Gosh, I am getting butterflies in my tummy right now. I am so loving this red Swedish Hasbeens.

I saw these cute red checkered paper bags at Daiso recently and quickly bought a packet. They are great for small gifts or party packs. If I remember correctly, the paper bags come in blue also.

I used one of it recently to wrap a present for my niece.

I spruced up the paper bag with paper doilies and added a red ribbon on top. The letter K is the first initial of my niece’s name. Another simple gift bag idea
