My dear friend, Jen Cheung from Toronto sent these cute key chains to me and Ashley for Christmas.  She handmade those colourful ‘mini pillows’.  Isn’t she creative?   For your information, Jen and I have never met.  She is another good friend whom I met online.  Like I’ve always said….I am so lucky to have met so many wonderful friends through blogging.  Besides great friendship, they have been showering me and Ashley with lots of gifts.   We are really blessed.

Do check out Jen’s blog whenever you have the time.  This pretty girl also has a great passion for food and she has created a food blog called Passion4Food.  Boy, those food featured in her blog sure makes me hungry.  Some of the places she eats in Toronto brings back fond memories of the time when I was staying in there.  Thank you very much again Jen for the lovely key chains.  You are so thoughtful

Today is my birthday and my sister bought a lil cake from San Terri to celebrate as she knows Ashley loves to blow candles The cake was delicious and of course Ashley was so happy to sing the birthday song and blow out the candles. Thanks sis for the cake

At around 4pm, a delivery man came with a present for me.  I was delighted to see what he was holding – A big basket of fruit and flowers.   When I opened the card to read who sent me the beautiful gift, I was so surprised and wanted to cry.   They are from friends all over the world.   These wonderful ladies are friends whom I met online.  THANK YOU SO MUCH Jan, Lina, Macy, Yvonne, Shirley, Chu Yee, Julie, Jen, Charmaine & Alice!  Besides Yvonne, I have never met any of these lovely ladies.  Can you believe this?  I am so blessed to have ‘met’ so many wonderful friends through blogging.  Thank you so much for your friendship.  It was truly a wonderful day which I will remember always.

On Sunday, my lovely friend asked me if I would like to join her for lunch.  I quickly said yes and she was so nice to come all the way to pick me and Ashley up.  Hubs was out of town over the weekend.  It was wonderful to meet up with her and we had a yummy lunch.  Wish we could chat longer but the kids were running around the eatery, which means they were pretty restless so we decided to leave.  As soon as she dropped me off, she took out a bag and handed it to me.  It’s my birthday pressie !!!!  I was so surprised and touched.   Not only did she treated us to lunch, she has something for me…oh..and Ashley too

I love to browse the arts & crafts/handmade/designs blogs.  I have even bookmarked many of my favourite blogs.  The owners of those blogs are so  creative and talented.  You can find handmade birthday cards, bags, clothing and even garage flooring   If you need to enhance your creativity, just hop over to those blogs.  You will feel very inspired   Last Christmas, we were invited to a party and after shopping for the gifts and wrappers, I realized that I forgot about the gift tags.  I had a few stored at home but they weren’t enough. So, what I did was browse one of my fav blogs and came across an idea on how to do a gift tag.

I didn’t have any coloured papers with me but I found a Starbucks paper bag.

Cut out some alphabets from the bag.  I use the first alphabet of the recipient’s name.  I also cut out a shape of a regular gift tag shape.  What I did was cut 2 pieces of each alphabets and glued them together so that they are thicker.

Wrote the name and messages at the back and attach the tag on to the gift. All done. Simple and easy huh?  One of the ways to reduce my carbon footprint

These gifts are from a wonderful momsie whom I met through blogging   She is Shireen, mommy to Ashley and Emily.   Yes, the same Shireen who bought those cute pastas for Ashley when she went to Switzerland a few months ago.  She is ever so thoughtful.  I am so touched to receive the gifts.  Shireen knows that when the new year arrives, there will be some changes in my life…actually our lives and these gifts are also to wish us Good Luck

Ashley loves the anklet and is wearing it right now.  She likes the sound of the bell when she’s walking   I told her that this Christmas present is from Auntie Shireen and she said, “Santa?“  So I told her that Auntie Shireen told Santa that she is a good girl who does her homework everyday.  Therefore, Santa sent her this lovely anklet…heheheheheh.  Thank you so much for the gifts, Shireen.  They are awesome.  I cannot wait to wear the bracelet.  Thanks for thinking of us

something pink for a pink princess wannabe

Yes, Ashley received another tutu a few days ago.  It is from Aunty Sasha again.  She knows that Ashley’s school concert is coming up soon and she made this for her to wear (the school doesn’t provide any costume).  Isn’t Ashley a spoiled lucky girl?  She has 2 tutus in her favourite colours – pink and purple.  Ashley was so happy to get the tutu and has been wearing it all the time.  This pink one is slightly different from the purple one she got earlier.  It is made from pink, fuschia and white netting and adorned with little small flowers.  Pretty eh?  Aunty Sasha is so good with her sewing.  What’s next Aunty Sasha? A tuxedo vest?

a special handmade gift

Ashley received a very special gift 2 days ago.

A pretty tutu in purple and pink, handmade by Auntie Sasha. Ain’t it pretty? Auntie Sasha is very talented huh? Didn’t know she can make tutus too

The lil missy eyes went very big when she saw the tutu. She wore it immediately when she came home from school and has been wearing it all day at home. She wanted to wear it to her music class and to school too *slaps forehead*

And…..she even let Charlie wear her old princess skirt and asked me to snap a photo of them.

The day when she first got the tutu, I called out her name as I wanted to ask her something. Her reply? Call me Princess Ashley O_O You can see how much she loves wearing her tutu and thinks that she is a princess. Oh well, ain’t all girls think like that eh? A very Big Thank You to Auntie Sasha again for the lovely gift

Ashley is such a lucky girl.   She received more pressies from dear Auntie Jan from Yarmouth, Nova Scotia who sent 2 parcels to ’suk suk’ so that he can bring them back to Malaysia.  Jan is very good friend of mine whom I met through blogging. She has a big heart and is always helping people.  Jan buys gifts for Ashley all the time and I told her that she is spoiling Ashley big time   Here are the gifts she sent :-
