I was listening to the radio a few days ago and the station was playing lots of 80’s songs. Sure brings back lots of cherished memories of my teenage years Back in the 80’s, I was really crazy about these few things -

The colourful straw bag. I was very much in love with straw bags but couldn’t afford one. Even if I could, there was no no way I could find one in Ipoh I used to drool over my cousin’s straw bags and I begged her to give me one but of course she did not.

Cherie Chung. She’s one of my favorite actresses and I wanted so much to copy her hairstyle. Wai Leng, if you are reading this, do you remember how much I wanted to ‘look’ like Cherie? hahahahaahaaha

I love shopping for pretty skirts for Ashley as I love to see her wearing skirts. Actually she only started liking skirts late last year What about your daughters? Do they love wearing skirts? 100 Yen shop is opened near my home. It is only 1 minute walk away! *doing the happy dance* Its first day was on Sunday and I went there twice that day….hahhahahhaahaha. Ashley was super excited too because like her mama, she loves to browse every section. Did I buy anything? Well of course I did. Before you know it, I will be lugging bags and bags of stuff from this shop. I would probably develop muscles on my arm later on, as if I have taken the testosterone booster

A few weeks before Ashley’s birthday, I was looking around for her birthday cake. We have tried novelty cakes and jelly cakes in the past so I wanted something different this year. While facebooking, I discovered Sincerely Yours by Suanne who specializes in homemade cheesecakes. Her cheesecakes do not contain any preservatives or artificial colouring. They are made with 100% love, 100% cream cheese and there are no sponge fillers in between One bite of this and you think that you have died and gone to cheesecake heaven!

When I saw the Disney Character 4″ Mini Cakes, I knew I had to order a Disney Princess Cheesecake for Ashley this year. So, when I told Suanne that I would like to have a Disney Princess sugar paper (which must have Princess Aurora) for the Chocolate Cheesecake, she went out to look for the specific sugar paper for me. I am so glad that she found it. Ashley’s eye lit up the moment she saw her birthday cake. The chocolate cheesecake was so delicious and everyone in our family enjoyed it. When we were at IOI Boulevard recently,we dined at our favourite restaurant – Otak Otak Place. Besides serving very good food, we also like the ambiance of this restaurant. It is filled with lots of quirky and old school memorabilia such as green plastic soldiers, flasks, marbles and more. Have you been to Otak Otak Place before?
