I chanced upon www.justlittlethings.net which has a list of little things we should appreciate in life. We often take things for granted. It is a good reminder that we try to appreciate the little things for life is too short. Here are some of mine ……
Having a cup of good coffee
Revisiting favourite childhood places
Knowing the lyrics to my favourite song
Singing it out loud when I hear it on the radio
The smell of grass after the rain
Watching a good soppy or funny movie
When I hear Ashley laugh out loud
Acting silly with my friends
Wrapping presents
The concern people show when they know I am upset or injured
Sleeping on my bed after I have changed the bedlinen
The sound of the ocean
Being around people I love
Laughing so hard that I can’t catch my breath
Going on long road trips
Logging in to Facebook on my birthday
Sitting on the beach watching a sunset

What’s yours?

I just heard the sound of someone on a motorbike, throwing something onto the ground a while ago (8.30pm). Mighty hardworking eh? He threw it on my porch and my neighbours’ too. When I went out to check, I saw a ‘present’ from the Swedish Furniture Giant

When dear Germaine of Kiddothings posted about the 10 TV Shows That She Miss, it brought back some good old memories of my favourite tv shows. Thanks for letting me borrow this idea, Germaine
Here are some of the tv shows that I miss :-

The Jeffersons. I love their crazy antics! Hilarious!

The Cosby Show. My All-Time Favourite. Can you believe it that I taped this show every week and played them on my VCR whenever I was free. Never get bored with the Cosbys. I am still watching some of the episodes on Youtube
Love them!!

Family Ties

The Facts of Life. Love to sing its theme song – “The Facts of Life, The Facts of Life”

Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. The Fresh Prince and his tv cousin – Carlton are just hilarious!

Cheers. Back then Ted Danson had more hair

Little House On The Prairie. I wanted to be Laura Ingalls Wilder

Friends. Love them to bits! I wanted to dress like the girls too

Sex And The City. I want Carrie Bradshaw’s closet!
Do you have any show that you miss?

I really must stop buying but I couldn’t resist when I saw how cute these elephants are. Yes, I’m currently obsessing over elephants. There is just something about these mystical gentle giants that make my heart melt. Below are some of my recent clothing purchases for Ashley. They are all for next year’s CNY (if I can wait till then to let her wear them).

a green dress

denim skirt

a lightweight orange top

a pink tee with a cute elephant in the middle
I have gone gaga over elephants. I’m just waiting to fill my home with elephant decors

I have been having salads for dinner since a few months ago. My weight is still the same despite that so I have switched to having salads for lunch as well. This means I have 2 salads a day and a piece of wholemeal bread for breakfast. I usually eat like this from Monday to Friday. During the weekend, I allow myself to have other food like noodles
Now back to my salads. Sometimes I’ll get the roast chicken from the supermarket and make myself a roast chicken salad. At times, I would fry a sausage or ham. Not very healthy eh? Once in a while I’ll have these…

pork chop salad

Chicken satay with my veges. This is only on Thursday when it’s pasar malam (night market) day in my neighbourhood.
I don’t know when I’ll stop eating salad. Hopefully I can lose some weight before I get bored with them

1. Scrubbed the toilets and washed the bathrooms
2. Mopped the floor
3. Did some online work
4. Wipe the shelves
5. Cooked lunch for missy
6. De-clutter missy’s closet
7. Cleaned some shoes
Half a Saturday is gone doing the above but it feels good. Hope all of you are having a lovely weekend.

after 2 and half years …..

Lord G**gle has decided to bestow a pagerank upon my blog. This is the first time my blog has a pagerank after I switched from blogspot 2 and half years ago. Actually I have given up hope that this blog of mine would get any ranking. It is not hugely important whether a blog has a pagerank or not unless you want to attract advertisers or do paid posts
Thank you G**gle. Now, should I go out and celebrate? Ok, enough about this. I better get down to serious business and start looking for ipod nano cases for someone’s birthday

When I was a stay-at-home mom, I used to watch Oprah reruns on tv and also TVB dramas since I’m a big fan. Ashley was younger and she slept more then so I had time to watch my favourite shows. Ever since I went back to work last year, I haven’t had much time to watch my shows. When Ashley goes to bed, I would go too because I need my minimum 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night
My eyes cannot open if I were to stay up to watch.
Since about a month ago, I decided to allocate at least an hour every night to watch my favourite TVB dramas. This is one of the ways for me to de-stress (besides retail therapy) *wink* So far, I managed to watch No Regrets, When Lanes Merge and Sisters of Pearl. These are last year’s dramas and I am slowly catching up
How do you de-stress?
