my meals

Posted on Jul 13, 2011 under diet, me | 18 Comments

I have been having salads for dinner since a few months ago.  My weight is still the same despite that so I have switched to having salads for lunch as well.  This means I have 2 salads a day and a piece of wholemeal bread for breakfast. I usually eat like this from Monday to Friday.  During the weekend, I allow myself to have other food like noodles :)   Now back to my salads.  Sometimes I’ll get the roast chicken from the supermarket and make myself a roast chicken salad.  At times, I would fry a sausage or ham.  Not very healthy eh?  Once in a while I’ll have these…

Chicken satay with my veges.  This is only on Thursday when it’s pasar malam (night market) day in my neighbourhood.

I don’t know when I’ll stop eating salad.  Hopefully I can lose some weight before I get bored with them :)

after 2 and half years …..

pr1

Lord G**gle has decided to bestow a pagerank upon my blog.  This is the first time my blog has a pagerank after I switched from blogspot 2 and half years ago.  Actually I have given up hope that this blog of mine would get any ranking.  It is not hugely important whether a blog has a pagerank or not unless you want to attract advertisers or do paid posts ;)   Thank you G**gle.  Now, should I go out and celebrate?  Ok, enough about this.  I better get down to serious business and start looking for ipod nano cases for someone’s birthday :)

How I De-stress

Posted on Apr 13, 2011 under me | 22 Comments

When I was a stay-at-home mom, I used to watch Oprah reruns on tv and also TVB dramas since I’m a big fan.  Ashley was younger and she slept more then so I had time to watch my favourite shows.  Ever since I went back to work last year, I haven’t had much time to watch my shows.  When Ashley goes to bed, I would go too because I need my minimum 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night :D   My eyes cannot open if I were to stay up to watch.

Since about a month ago, I decided to allocate at least an hour every night to watch my favourite TVB dramas.  This is one of the ways for me to de-stress (besides retail therapy) *wink*  So far, I managed to watch No Regrets, When Lanes Merge and Sisters of Pearl.  These are last year’s dramas and I am slowly catching up :)   How do you de-stress?

Hubs went to Istanbul for business last week and came back yesterday.  Did he get us any gifts? You betcha!  He bought something nice for his Princess at a toy shop in the mall.

I’m On A 30-Day Diet

Posted on Mar 09, 2011 under diet, me | 29 Comments

And so far, I have lost 15 days……hahahahahahah

On a more serious note…..

Remember my wish for a Reebok Trainer last Christmas?  Well Santa sent one to me  and since then, I have been exercising on it every day, if not 5 times a week.  I started with 3km a day and now I hit between 8k to 10 km a day, depending on my mood :D   It does feel good to exercise.  However, I don’t see my weight going down  *sad*.  I don’t eat a lot or snack in between meals thus this is puzzling.  Anyway,  a few days ago while I was looking for prescription glasses online, Elaine buzzed me and we chatted for a while. She told me that she was going to make a salad for dinner because it’s fuss-free.   It then dawned on me that perhaps I should have salad every night for dinner.  Maybe, just maybe, my weight will go down if I cut back on my food intake while continuing with the exercise?  I started having this 2 nights ago…

My own dressing – a lil bit of olive oil, some lemon juice and a dash of sea salt.  It is delish!

My dinner.  I added some ham into the salad.  I can also have this with an egg, tuna or chicken meat.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that my weight will go down.  Going to try this for a month and see how.  Wish me luck!

tired but happy

Just got back the reunion with my besties. Had a fabulous time laughing and chatting.   I managed to sleep for about 3 hours while my friends stayed up all night.  Some of them still went shopping today despite not getting any sleep last night.  Shopaholics!

Took this photo at Lot 10 after I met everyone yesterday.   Love it! Can you spot the one wearing a pink sandal?   Yup, the lil missy came along with me to the sleepover.  She was happy to stay at the hotel :)   Hopefully our next reunion will be in 2 year’s time or earlier.  We missed you, Lena and Mabel!

My Best Friends

Posted on Jan 21, 2011 under friends, me | 17 Comments

I have an awesome group of girlfriends.  We have known each other since primary school.   They have been with me through thick and thin. Over the years, things have changed.  We have taken different paths, some of us got married and have children, or living in different parts of the world. Eventhough we haven’t seen each other much over the years but every time we talk, we can still pick up our conversation right where we left off.  Tomorrow, we are having our reunion aka sleepover at one of the hotels in the city.  A couple of them are flying in to KL just for this reunion. There will be lots of happy tears when we meet as some of us have not seen each other for more than 10 years.   Time to catch up, laugh, eat and maybe a lil shopping(like old times) for cigars for their spouses and clothes for their kids. I am so looking forward to seeing the girls.  I am extremely blessed and thankful to have my best friends.

No starbucks for a while….

Posted on Jan 17, 2011 under me, Uncategorized | 12 Comments

One of the things that scare me is going to the hospital.  I find hospitals very cold and they have strong medicine and disinfectant smell.  Frankly, the smell of the hospital terrifies me.  Although I had gone through a major surgery and a cesarean,  I do not look forward to going up to the ward, bumping into other patients, seeing the medical equipment or exam tables. However, I tried to put on a brave front  when Ashley was at the hospital last November to remove abscess on her knee.  Actually, this silly girl of mine enjoyed her stay at the hospital.  She loves being able to eat koko crunch, drinks milo and watch cartoon :)

We would hang around Starbucks every day just to kill time.  Also because I need my daily dose of caffeine.  We were there so often that I was getting kinda bored with the coffee of the day, the frap or the blueberry muffins.  I have not been visiting Starbucks for a while now.  It has been almost 2 months.  I wonder if they miss me *wink*
