Ashley : “Then why are you eating bird seeds?”

Every year during Ramadan, hubs and I never fail to visit the Ramadan Bazaar at Seri Petaling. We love the ayam perciks and ikan bakar. Yummy! On Sunday, after checking out the rackmount lcd display at a store, we visited the bazaar for the first time since the Puasa month started. Here’s what we had….

Chicken murtabak on the top left and roti bom (something like roti canai but very sweet). My first time having murtabak and roti bom. Fattening!

Ikan bakar (grilled fish). The bigger fish cost rm5 and the smaller one, rm2.

The only thing that was good were the satay The flesh of the ikan bakar were hard and there weren’t much chilli stuffed in them. The roti bom was too sweet for my liking and the murtabak was just so-so. Sad to say, I didn’t enjoy the food at all. I think we should try other Ramadan bazaar before the puasa month is over.

We did go out last evening for dinner. We went to the Otak Otak Place at the Tropicana Mall for dinner and walked around the mall after that. As we were walking towards one of the shops, Ashley who was skipping beside me suddenly grabbed my hand and appeared really scared. She was on the verge of crying and I asked her what was wrong. She kept asking to go home. I told her that everything was ok because mommy and daddy were there. After she had calmed down, I asked her again what happened and why she was so scared. She told me not to ask her about it anymore. So I didn’t until bedtime. I talked to Ashley and pleaded with her softly to tell me what actually happened.

First she asked me not to scold her. Then she said, she saw a white face. OMG!!!!!! It was my turn to be scared. I know the Hungry Ghost Festival is over but it is still the 7th month in Chinese Lunar Calendar. I quickly asked her if she was very scared. She said yes. I asked her if that white face has long hair. She shook her head. She said it was wearing colourful clothing. Hmm….I thought a ghost would be wearing something white huh? Then, she said, it has a …….

…..

……

a RED NOSE!

PHEW….it was actually a CLOWN that she saw at the mall! And there I go jumping into conclusion that she has seen something else. Ashley is really afraid of the clowns. She was too scared to tell me it was a clown because I have always told her that if someone were to smile or say Hello to her, she should be polite and smile back. What a scare she gave her silly mommy!

We stayed at home the whole day yesterday because hubs was working. Today is Saturday and we do not have any plans. The weather is unbearably hot these few days and going to a place with air-conditioned sounds like a very good idea Perhaps we should go out for dinner at a mall? Online stores are sprouting like mushrooms these days. Many friends of mine have set up online stores to sell clothing, bags or shoes. There are also people I don’t know who request that I add them in Facebook because they have online stores. I have since stopped adding them and even removed some of them from my account. One thing that I am quite annoyed is when there are plus-sized clothing available, they tagged me in it. Ok…I know I’m not a Size 2 or 4 but I don’t need to be reminded that I can’t fit into those regular clothes which they feature in their album hence when there is a “bigger” size available, I got tagged. Yes, I am sensitive about my weight! So people who tag me on this will be removed from my friend’s list

Full moon is the first month after the birth of a child. During this time, Chinese parents often celebrate with a dinner or a party. It is a customary practice for the Chinese to buy a full moon gift for the baby. My cousin’s baby is due this October and my mom was telling me that a few of my cousins are planning to buy a gift for her baby. oopsssss….it is still Thursday today but it’s my Friday though Ashley is off school tomorrow because of Nuzul Al Quran in Selangor. My office is in KL but I’ve decided to take one day off and stay at home with her. Bliss Shhhhh….don’t tell my boss please I bet many people will be taking Monday off too because Tuesday is another Public Holiday. So what’s your plans this long weekend? We have something in mind but not sure if we are going or not. I’m too scared of the crowds during holidays. Well, have a great long weekend peeps

Once in a while, my mom would burn incense (kemenyan) and she would go round the house holding the incense burner. She said it’s good to get rid of mosquitoes.
