Where To Buy Almond Flour In Malaysia

In my quest to make my own low-carb pancakes, bread and cakes, I have to use Almond Flour.  I went everywhere in search of it.  It is really not easy to be on low-carb when you are staying in Malaysia.  Well, staying in Kuala Lumpur is a lil bit easier compared to other cities here because we have access to some supermarkets that offer a better range of sugar-free food items like jam, syrups, etc.

So, back to Almond Flour for low-carb bakes. I saw Bob Red Mill’s Almond Flour at Jaya Grocer and they cost a freaking rm60 for a bag of maybe 500 grams.  Insane right?  Well, I did not give up and went everywhere to find it.

Guess what?  I finally found it at Bake With Yen.  There is a Bake With Yen outlet in my neighbourhood so I popped over to have a look.  When I saw them on the shelves, I was in Almond Heaven.

A bag of Almond Flour for RM20 which is about US$5 for a bag of 500 gm.  Not cheap but at least I can get them here.

Check out the Bake With Yen locations here.

Thank God for this blog! I’ve been on Keto for 2 weeks now and have been frantically searching everywhere for almond flour. I’ve been craving tacos but almost all the flour from groceries near where I live are a no-no! So, muchas gracias! 🙂
Maybe you’d consider posting more like this? Like where to buy ingredients for Keto-safe food and such? 😀

I might sound silly to ask this question.. i would like to find out whether almond ground powder same as almond flour?

    • barbara says:

Hi, It’s not a silly question because I have asked the same thing. I googled and found out that they are both the same. When you buy almond powder or flour, do make sure that they are not the Chinese Almond which is used to make drinks. Make sure the flour/powder come from the brown almonds that we usually can buy to snack on 🙂

Hi, been in keto for 2 weeks but found that really hard to get some stuff. Would like to seek for your advise where to get cheaper erythritol (powdered) for baking goods. Thanks 🙏

Hi Cindy, thanks for your comment and for visiting my blog. So far I haven’t seen Erythirol on sale here in Malaysia. You can order online from iherb.com but shipping is rather high. If you can share the cost with others, then it’s worth it.

Otherwise you can use Lankato sweetener (loh hon kor) for baking. It is available in Carings Pharmacy. I am in a keto group on Facebook and I have seen members using it for baking. Do feel free to ask me any questions 🙂

wow !! You are a lifesaver. I have just started keto and my husband’s birthday is around the corner. I was desperately looking for some way in which I could get my hands on almond flour! Just another question – any idea where I can get Stevia and Erithritol? IHerb has both but it also has almost 40 RM delivery charge !
