Below are some photos taken at the dinner. It was held in Tai Thong Imperial Palace Restaurant in Cheras. The food was good and as usual, I only get to eat maybe the first and second courses only. Ashley didn’t want to sit on the highchair and was very keen on going to the entrance and run around. My mother, sisters, hubby and I took turns to keep an eye on her. I wonder why I still can’t lose weight despite running after her all the time 😀 After looking at all the photos, I realise that I didn’t take a photo of Ashley by herself. Must be too busy running after her and hubby was busy chatting with the guests.
Luckily, I stumbled upon this dress in Royel, Ampang Point.
This dress is just perfect for the wedding dinner. You are not going to believe how much this dress cost. RM10.00. Yes, it’s that freaking cheap! Can’t believe my eyes when I first saw it. There were at least 20 pieces of this dress at Royel with different sizes. At first, I thought there would be some defects on them because of the price so I checked it very carefully. To my surprised, there was none 🙂 I would have bought a few more but all the dresses are in this same burgundy colour. Needless to say, I was one happy camper that day!
Ashley looked cute in this dress. Will upload some photos taken at the wedding dinner when I get them from my BIL.
Alright, I confess that I have actually bought a pair of original Crocs for Ashley in January. Yes, this kiasu mommy bought her shoes eventhough she didn’t know how to walk then. It was the smallest size and yet it is still too big for Ashley’s feet. I think I need to wait another year before it will fit her. Have been seeing children walking around in these colourful shoes that I cannot wait anymore.
As soon as we got home, we put on the shoes for Ashley and she loves it! She didn’t want to take them off when she took her nap too 🙂 We went for a walk today and she would point her shoes to everyone she meets. What a show-off huh?
Well, may go to the market again this Sunday to check out the other colours (rubbing hands).
anana – banana
kor kor – brother
papawa – papaya
gagaga – ogawa
Ok, so the last one shows that she has been watching too many advertisements on tv 🙂 She kinda like the latest ogawa ad featuring a mother who called out to her son and daughter to massage her legs but in the end got the husband to do it. Ashley gets a kick out of this and she would say gagaga at the end of the ad. Actually, I don’t mind her picking up words from watching these ads, as long as she is talking.
She knows how to say *dad de*, *poh poh*, *ma ma* (despite me telling her it’s mummy) and *che che*. We took her to A&W over the weekend and while walking into the restaurants, she saw some cars passed by. She pointed at them and said *car car* 🙂
My friends have been telling me that once they start talking, they will go on and on and on like the Energizer bunny. I really do not mind at all. I just cannot wait for my baby to start talking 😀

Ashley was so happy to see the children. She had a fun time playing with the balloons. The food was yummylicious! I had creamy mushroom pasta and hubby had the fried chicken. I still don’t know why he ordered fried chicken when Pizza Uno is famous for pizza and pasta 🙂 I fed Ashley some of the pasta and she loved it. Mika’s birthday cake was the heavenly Mango Delight. We had a nice time and I’m so glad to see Ashley enjoying herself. She must have tired herself up by walking around and slept all the way home.
There were five of us (hubby, Ashley, MIL, my mum and myself) but we only ordered a two-person set of spare ribs soup steamboat as my MIL and mum are not big eaters. Hubby also ordered a special steamed chicken and claypot seafood vege. I don’t quite like the steamboat as there was no “Chilli” sauce at that restaurant. At other steamboat restaurants, they always have their special chilli sauce to go with the food. I guess Hong Kong style is different. We have tried their set dinners before and it was not bad. Also value for money.

As usual, Ashley was cranky because she didn’t get much sleep. She was whiny when I feed her porridge and kept wanting to go down and walk. I was getting very impatient and almost screamed at her. My mum quickly whisked her away and let her run about at the mall. After that I managed to eat but since my blood pressure has already gone up, I didn’t really enjoy the food 🙁 It’s always the case whenever I have to feed Ashley her dinner outside. Ever since I had her, I have been gulping down my food. Normally, hubby would eat first while I feed Ashley and at the same time, I try to entertain her with her books or things that are not breakable like plastic spoons, etc. When she is done, hubby will try to keep her occupied while I eat the cold food. Since she can’t sit still for long, I have to eat with lightning speed.
Bought a Chantilly fruit cake at Sans Terri for my MIL but only ate it at home because everyone was already full. We left the restaurant around 8.30pm and sent my mum home. MIL stayed over at our place for a couple of days after that. The above photo is not very clear as I took it with my handphone. Left the camera at home (slap forehead).
When I told my mum about these episodes, she said Ashley must be playing with her shadow. Huh?? Actually, she does play with her shadow. Recently she saw her own shadow on the wall and got very excited. Every night when I take her to the bedroom and switch off the lights, she would play for a while with the night light on. Since she found out about her shadow, she would jump around and wave her hands while looking at the wall. She laughs her head off at her own antics.
So, is it true that children have nightmare after playing with their shadows? I really don’t know. My mother believes in a lot of old wives’ tales that she sometimes turn me into a paranoid mother. I hope Ashley will sleep better tonight (fingers crossed).
Please lend your support.
Here is a photo of Ashley with her first traditional *tanglung*. I prefer this to the battery-operated ones.
The food was delicious. There were curry chicken, fried beehoon, chee cheong fan, fried wanton, fishball, some other tofu-related fried things, chocolate and butter cakes, agar-agar, red bean dessert and mooncakes, of course.
