I was also shocked when I found out about it. By the time I knew, she was already calmed and began taking charge of her life. I must say that this woman is really strong. My friend did not wallow in self-pity or let herself go into depression. She has moved on and is building a new life for herself and her little boy.
Ashley lying on the floor….one of her favourite things to do
Yesterday night I feel like getting my hair permed and so I dropped by the hair saloon this morning and finally did it. Yes!!! I haven’t had my hair permed for more than 5 years now. It really felt so good to have a nice massage when my hair was being washed. I sat in the saloon for almost 3 hours just reading magazines, watching people while having my hair pulled, stretched, rinsed and rinsed again. Ahhhhh……bliss 😀 (would be better if they had served coffee too).
My hair is still shoulder length but with some curls now. I think I need some time to get used to it 😀 The hairdresser told me not to let my hair dry on its own so I need to scrunch it dry with some cream thingy that she asked me to buy. Can’t resist since she kept saying that the cream is really good for the hair, makes my hair look really nice…etc. I’m a sucker when it comes to stuff like these.
When I came home, Ashley couldn’t recognise me. She stared at me and I didn’t say anything, just waiting for her response. She continued staring until I called her name. Then she broke into a smile. Silly girl 😀
Well, I’m not going to post a photo of my latest hairdo ;P Very embarrasing y’all!! I guess the next project will be a day at the spa ……..anyone wants to join me??
So, we quickly went back to the mall and retraced my steps. I went around frantically and asked the cashiers and security guards if they have seen my I.C. They all said no. The thought of having to make a police report and going to the gaumen office to get a new I.C. made me dizzy. I started to blame myself for being so careless. Luckily, hubby didn’t grumble or scold me because of my carelessness.
We went back to our car and do a search again before heading home. Can’t find it too. On the way home, I was thinking about Oscar’s mommy who may have lost her passport and I could relate to how she must be feeling. When we almost reached home, I had this funny feeling and looked down at my left leg. I SAW IT. My I.C. was lying next to my leg. Once I picked it up, I began to have goosebumps all over my body. I swear that I looked at that place thoroughly and couldn’t find it earlier. It is so strange that my I.C. appeared suddenly.
What a relief! I will certainly be more careful next time. Could we carry a photocopy of our I.C. instead? Is it illegal to do so?
The answer will be Disney World, Orlando, Florida again! Hubby and I have been to this place before many years ago and now that we have Ashley, I would like for us to visit Disney World again. I am sure Ashley will love it very much.
Now that I have 1 Million USD, we will stay in the Disney resort which is inside the Disney World. We could stay there for 3 weeks and take our time to visit the Magical Kingdom, Epcot & MGM Studio. I’m sure Ashley would love to sit in the flying teacup which takes us round an enclosed area showcasing different parts of the world while the song ‘It’s A Small World’ being played throughout the journey 😀 She’ll also get to meet life-size Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and other wonderful Disney characters.
Once we have enjoyed ourselves in Disney World, we can hop over to Universal Studio and Sea World, Florida. Hmm…..I guess daddy will be the one enjoying the most at Universal Studio. Since we have some time left, we could always drive to Clearwater and head to the beach.
A holiday won’t be complete without shopping (for a shopaholic like me)! There are many factory outlets in Orlando with brands like Nine West, Timberland, Ralph Lauren, OshKosh, etc. I have a million dollars, right? What else?? Splurge!!!!! We can always buy an extra luggage bag to take home all the goodies.
Boy, it’s so good to daydream about this 🙂 I am supposed to tag others after doing this tag but since I’m already late doing it (more than 7 days), I don’t think I’ll tag anyone 🙂 Just want to do it because it’s a lot of fun. If anyone of you reading this would like to do it, feel free 😉
1. I believe it is fated. Hubby is 10 days older than me. When his mom gave birth to him at the maternity clinic in Ipoh, my mother was also there, preparing for my arrival (dunno why they stayed there for so many days). Both our mothers didn’t know each other but our grandmothers were friends. They bumped into each other when they were there visiting their daughters. We found this out after hubby and I met each other 16 years later. Cupid must have done something at the clinic ;D. Coincidence?
2. My hubby migrated to Toronto when he was 21. I joined him a year later. In order for me to stay in Toronto, I have to be a Permanent Resident. So, we got married a few months after my arrival and then applied for a PR.
3. He is funny and he makes me laugh.
4. I feel safe when I’m him because he knows martial arts (don’t pway pway).
5. We share the same interest when it comes to shopping. We love to check out factory outlets or flea markets no matter where we go. We used to drive across the border once a month to Buffalo, NY just for a day of shopping at the factory outlets.
6. He loves to travel and so do I. However, since the arrival of our daughter, we haven’t been travelling at all. Probably when she’s older, we’ll go again.
7. Hubby is the handy man. He fixes everything in the house so I don’t have to worry much, except to find space to keep his ever growing tools 😉
That’s all folks. I’m not going to tag anyone 😀
We arrived at SJMC around 10.30am and Ashley started to cry when we stepped into the lobby. I guess she knew we were taking her to see a doctor. After all the paperwork at the Day Care surgery on the 1st floor, we went down to the lobby again and bought her a Barney balloon to stop her from crying. Around 12.30pm, the nurse fed some relaxant to Ashley and 5 minutes later, she started to giggle. She must be feeling high from the medication which is supposed to make her relax. It was a funny sight. The medication began to wear off around 1.30pm and Ashley started to cry again as she was feeling scared. The surgery was at 2pm, after a delay of 30 minutes because the OT was not available.
Ashley wearing the hospital gown and feeling high on mummy’s lap.
Then nurse brought me and Ashley into the waiting area to get ready. I tried to calm Ashley down by explaining to her what the nurses and doctors were doing in the room. She stopped crying and was actually very interested in seeing all those people. Then suddenly, the Anaesthesiologist approached us with a few nurses. He was trying to look for the right vein on her hand to stick the needle. 3 nurses and I had to hold Ashley down when he poke the needle on her hand. I wanted to follow them into the OT until she’s asleep but they would not allow it. Ashley was sobbing when they whisked her in and it broke my heart. Tears started flowing down my cheeks eventhough I tried very hard not to cry so I quickly left the room. After 30 minutes, the doctor came out and told me that everything is ok. He said the cyst was filled with oil and blood. We had to go back to see him again in a week’s time. Ashley was wheeled into the waiting area and woke up shortly. She was crying and tried to take off the patch but we managed to calm her. She slept in my arm for a while and we gave her some water around 3.30pm. She was shivering from hunger and we could only give her a little milk and some bread. We left SJMC around 4.30pm.
Ashley after the surgery
Ashley was back to her old self again at night. We took out the eye patch at 9.00pm as per the instruction by the doctor. I was expecting some bruises around her eye but luckily there was none.
Munchkin without the patch
Overall, Ashley has been a good girl and didn’t make a lot of fuss. Thank God!
I noticed a little lump on Ashley’s eye last November but I thought maybe she has a little eye bag that won’t go away. When I tried to press it, there was nothing. So, I didn’t really worry about it although I monitor the situation. Then during CNY, it was slightly swollen and I took her to an eye specialist in Assunta Hospital. The doctor said it was due to blocked duct and it was a sty (ngan chiew cham). He gave us some eye drops and cream and asked us to wait for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, the sty was still around and this time it has become red. Took her to the doctor again and he said he can’t remove it since it’s red and gave us more medication. He asked us to wait for another 2 weeks and then come back for the surgery. It will be a minor one but Ashley has to be under General Anaesthetic 🙁 I was hoping that the sty would burst and then we would try to press the pus out so she doesn’t need to go through surgery.
can you see the lump under her eye?
We took Ashley to the Bukit Jalil Park one weekend. It was around 2pm and the sky was rather gloomy that day so daddy said, “let’s go to the park”. Normally this is the time we go out as it’s just after Ashley’s lunch and before her nap time at 5pm. Daddy had actually found this park earlier and checked it out himself 😀
This park has 3 play areas equipped with huge colourful slides, swings and see-saws. The floors are padded with soft mats. There are benches and a rest area with roof for the tired parents 😀
Ashley had a swell time running around and she tried to go up the slide which is too big for her age. I sat with her on one of the swings but she didn’t like it that much. Daddy took her up to the slides area and she was so happy walking on the wobbly bridge. Of course this mummy was a bit worried that she would trip on the bridge and kept a close eye. On the other hand, daddy was so relaxed and let her run freely on the wobbly bridge! I guess fathers tend to be less protective until the daughters start to have boyfriends 😀
Mika’s Mummy – She is a super-fantastic mummy and also happens to be my good friend. We don’t see each other often eventhough we are both staying in KL. By visiting her blog, I get to know more about her everyday life with her handsome son. Both of us are very stressed mummies so we can relate to each other.
Sasha – The one who tagged me 😀 I like to read her blog everyday because she is so funny and down to earth. I also like to read about little cutie Jayden’s development. This mummy has lots of energy too and she even blogs when she is unwell. Salute, Salute!
Mott’s Muttering – She is another funny lady with a wicked sense of humour. Never fail to tickle me. Also a very good cook, by the way.
Raising Belle – I just love reading about Belle. She is sooooooo cute. Her mummy is doing a good job on blogging about the little pumpkin 😀
The I’mPerfect Mom – She is a remarkable woman with 2 lovely daughters and a wonderful husband. I’ve been following her blog since her 2nd daughter was born premature. Her blog is very funny and heart-warming. Reading her posts brightens up my day.
Actually I have more than 5 favourite bloggers. I also love to read about Laundryamah (the ultimate shopping queen), Irfan (the cute little boy), Crumbs in Life (pretty missy Rachel), Raelynne (the baby who closes her eyes when taking photos), Little Fearles & Little Cruz (the boisterous twins) and Ashley Ann (the smart little toddler).
That’s about all folks. Do I want to tag the others? Well, maybe just one – Mika’s Mummy (if you are reading this, please do the tag, ok).
