Teacher’s Day Gift

Ashley’s school celebrated Teacher’s Day on the last day of school for this term which was yesterday.  I bought some things for her teacher and decided to DIY the packaging of the gifts.  Here’s what I did.

I managed to find an empty milk powder can so I thought I’ll use it as a container.  First, cut out a piece of heart-shaped wrapping paper and cover the can with it.

The milk powder can after the makeover 🙂

Next, I got an egg carton and cut out the egg cups.  This is for making some flowers to decorate the gift. I got this idea from one of the craft blogs.  Then cut out the petals and trimmed the sides.

Then we painted the egg-carton flowers

I bought a box of bamboo pencils to be used as the flower stem.

Cut a little hole in the center of the flowers and slide the pencils through.  The flowers are ready.

The gifts for Ashley’s teacher – a box of Redcurrant puffs, a bottle of body lotion and a pack of pink post-it notes

Put everything into the can, wrapped it with clear plastic wrappers, tied a piece of twine around it and not forgetting, attached a gift tag made from cardboard 🙂  This is the gift for her Form Teacher.

Ashley also wanted some gifts for her English, Bahasa Malaysia, Computer and Music Teachers so I made another 4 cookies and sugar free chocolate gifts.

It was fun to wrap all these gifts and it has been a really busy 2 weeks for me.  They had a party at the school yesterday and I am so glad that school is out for 2 weeks.  Yay!!!
