Diaper Talk

From the title, I’m sure you know what I’m going to talk about 🙂 Does anyone buy Pampers Comfort for their children? I have a problem with this diaper and would like to know if anyone else faces this problem. Recently, I left a comment in Mom2Ashley post about my daughter taking off her diaper and running around b*ttnaked. I thought she’s ready to be potty trained 😀 Silly me! Now I know why. The top part of the diaper scratches her tummy and she feels so uncomfortable wearing it. Also, the sticky tape does not hold properly.

Ashley uses 5 pieces of diapers everyday. Huggies during the day and Mamypoko when she goes to bed at night. I normally change her diaper every 3 to 3 1/2 hours. However, after she has her dinner and just before she goes to bed, which is about 2 hours apart, I let her use Pampers Comfort as it’s cheaper than the 2 brands mentioned. It cost about RM28 for 72 pieces of Large size. I still have half a bag to go and for sure I’m not going to buy this brand again. Any recommendations on what is good and economical?

Sorry la, can’t help you here. Pampers brand should be quite good. I’ve used Pampers swaddler during Belle’s first 3 months ‘cos Huggies Newborn was too big for her. I find the swaddler softer than Huggies..matter of fact, the Pampers here are much softer than Huggies. I’m using Huggies now ‘cos I can buy it in bulk at the hypermkt.

i haven’t tried it myself (or rather, on rachel) but a friend told me that tesco brand, is VERY similar to huggies, in fact they are from the same manufacturing… he said he bought tesco brand for the daughter, and it’s working as well…

tesco the more exp version is same producer for drypers. J is using it. Not Bad

Dillon have used pamper comfort before, it was ok.

Since 6-7 months old, I’ve tried him on cheapo diapers, the Giant house brand & it works well. He is now using Giant for day time (change in 3-4 hours interval, use abt 4-5 pcs a day )& Pampers Night for night time (only need 1 pc, unless sometimes overflow).

In terms of cost, it’s definitely very economical. Giant L72 is RM25.89 & Pampers Night L60 is RM28.90 (bought whenever got promotion, normal price is RM38.90)

hmm dunno la..i let ashley use mamy poko day and night – and no she is not toilet trained yet!:)

Irfan uses Huggies and I’m happier with that brand because Pampers does not have the velcro tape. When I have to kung-fu with Irfan, sometimes the tape doesn’t stick anymore and the pampers by Pampers go to waste. Heh.

Heard about the Tesco brand pampers too. But have not tried it yet. I think I’m just going to stick to Huggies. Haha!

    Mamy Poko too expensivelah…

Vien – tks for your comments. Yeah…pampers brand is good in the states but over here, i don’t think so..i find huggies better 😉

shannon – hey…tks. will check out the tesco brand. didn’t know why i didnt think of that 😀

    sasha – tks….will check them out 😀

misha’s mum – tks for the compliments 😀 do you have a blog?

karenyiau – tks…will also check out giant brand. have to experience a few different ones 😀 ashley has tried pampers all-night but i still prefer mamypoko ;D

    mom2ashley – mamypoko all day?? wow…very expensive la. i only let ashley use 1 piece a day…hahahaha

nadia – yay!!! we are the huggies fans. yes, i have the same problem with pamper’s tape! I’m sticking to huggies during the day. just wanna try a cheaper one during the 2-hour period so that i can use less huggies….hehehe.

dun use pampers..but i use drypers or the tesco generic one which is same as drypers…cheaper la…about $36-$39 for 72 pieces (i think)

Hi, i think dryper is cheaper than mamypoko, huggies, and pamper. And I find it good too for day use. As for night, mamypoko is still the best cos it absorb more and also keep petpet and butt drier. This is something which dryper also cannot compare.

But i only use dryper cos it’s cheaper than other brands here in SG.

Hi, i bumped into your name at mommy2two angels’ blog.

I uses Huggies too, MIL is sworn by them. But in the recent last 3 months, i have switched to drybees cloth washable diapers and bumgenius washable diapers. I thought they are dryer than huggies when baby wet the diapers.not damp like when the disposable are full, you know. the poo is not a prob but you could check out this site where i bought them from.

    and her blog at http://www.miabambina.blogspot.com

It tickles me actually to note that my MIL approved of them too. she is so oldfashioned i tot she be going non stop about how i should not use washable diapers

Different children react differenctly, I think. Harvynna and Rowena was on Drypers and it served them well. Drypers is slightly bigger. Pampers and Mamypoko are too small for my girls and they tend to get cuts on the sides.

  13. Mama BoK says:

When chloe was younger.. she uses the Pampers brand.. but as she got older.. she uses a local brand.. and alot cheaper..! and like you we change her diapers .. every 4hrs.. 😉 Kiasu mah..! scared got diaper rash..!

  14. Annie Q says:

yea,i’m using Drypers for day time and night time i use mamy poko. If day n night also use mamy poko that will be too expensive. So far i have use Drypers for my boys since they first born till now. I have try pampers and also huggies and also other brand.End up i still stick to Drypers. When they got sale i can get it at RM29.90 for 72 pcs.

    Diapers talk… I like!

I also love to try all kind of brands and luckily Darrius does not have a sensitive butt as some really bad…

For day time I’ve tried and approved of Fitty Basic, Huggies (blue), Petpet, Tesco Choice and Drypers.

For night use, mamy Poko, Huggies (red) and Scobby Dry.

Never ever use Baby Like… worst than Pampers. Another thing I don’t really like Pampers is, they are not breathable… have not tried the premium ones but that one damn expensive!

Most value for evening wear… is Fitty Basic or Tesco Choice (when priced at +-RM28)

Now I’m using nappy with training pants as I’m going to train Darrius to pee in the potty and not on his nappy. Can save some $$$ hehhee
