Ashley is really getting to be very timid these days. Any loud sound will make her jump. When our neighbour opens the grill door, she would quickly run to me and cling on to me. I have explained to her what and where the sound came from but to no avail. It is worse when it rains as thunder really frightens her. I read in the newspaper today that La Nina has arrived and we can expect more rain for the next couple of months. Isn’t that great? I wonder when children will get over their fears.
Here is a photo of Ashley trying to wear a skirt *shake head*
hmm no worries, they’ll grow out of it, i guess gotta cultivate in them to be brave
funny, belle isn’t afraid of anything. i guess we didn’t instill it ‘cos we never use words like, bad man, bad uncle, monster, etc. i’m sure ashley will grow out of it..just need to assure her more.
Haha. She looks too cute in the picture, although I can’t see her facelah. Haha.
Don’t worrylah, it’s just a phase me thinks. Heh.
she will definetely grow out of it!
Ivan used to afraid of the loud thunderstorm as well. But now, he always sleep like pig and never bother any loud sound.
She will grow out of it. Try telling her some stories or give her assurance that you are there to protect her.
what i did was sing a song out of loud thunder and soft pitter patter of rain..
to the tune of “are you sleeping”..
Thunder, Lightning (2x)
Oh! So! Loud! (loud booming voice)
(beating table/floor loudly)
Pitter Patter Rain Drops(2x)
Oh! So! Soft! (whisper)
(drumming fingers softly)
now..whenever there is a loud thunderous sound..they just sing that song.
hope that helps! 😉
