My cousin’s daughter paid us a visit today and she brought us these cute little mooncakes.
Have you all seen them before? They are from Purple Cane. These petite mooncakes are vegetarian, hence they don’t have egg yolks. The green ones are White Lotus Paste Green Tea and Jasmine Lotus Paste Green Tea. The brown one is Puer Tea Lotus Paste. Oh, I just love the packaging of these mooncakes. They come in pretty paper lantern box. How unique eh?
Oh, in each of the boxes, there is a piece of paper with 35 lantern riddles 🙂 Something to keep our minds busy while enjoying the mooncakes and sipping some tea. Sounds fun eh?
I don’t know how these mooncakes taste like though. I’m still on a diet so I can’t eat them yet. Maybe in a few weeks’ time 😉 I love mooncakes, especially Shanghai mooncakes but I gotta be disciplined and not spoil my diet. Maybe I’ll go check out the Shanghai mooncakes and see when is the expiry date. I could buy one and keep in the fridge for now….hehehehehe. So, are you a mooncake fan?
Hate to sound like a wet blanket but I don’t eat mooncakes. Funny that you should mention you can’t eat them since you’re on a diet. My friend also says the same thing.
hmmm… i like those plain ones from pasar malam. haha. red bean paste ones. nowadays mooncakes is super pricey lah. madness. but packaging damn nice! hehe. i got some TaiThong ones as gift, belum eat also 🙂
I wasn’t fond of mooncakes last time. But now I’m beginning to like them.:)
Now i could use some.. 🙂
given a choice, i prefer “gung chai peng” more than moon cake
Yes indeed the Purple Cane mooncake very creative..I like it when they put inside the lantern shape box.
Btw, Wishing you Happy Mooncake Festival this Thursday ya…
ooo they just featured the same mooncake in hochiak last night.
I don’t like the normal lotus paste type..but fanc those “new invention” like green tea flavour, orange flavour…
I love Shanghai mooncakes and the mooncakes with lots of nuts. Yup, mooncakes are really damn fattening and I gained 1kg from gorging on them recently 🙁
Good luck on your diet! I didn’t care and walloped them since I love mooncakes!
Sorry a bit blur.
The festival is Sunday. I dun know why it recorded on my brain as Thursday..hehe
Yeah, they’re cute! And the lantern riddles are such a good idea too 🙂
I love Shanghai mooncakes too. Mooncakes in China are very, very expensive that we haven’t got any yet.
Know why? Coz the China folks tell us, “hao kan bu hao chi” LOL
