Anyone misses me? hahaaahahahahahahahaa…we are finally home after a few days in the historical city of Malacca 😀 This is the first time we have ever been to Malacca. I know I know, some of you would be shocked just like when people tell me that they have never been to Ipoh before 😀 We usually opt for beach vacations as they are more relaxing. This time, we decided to go to Malacca because we managed to get a great deal at the Renaissance Hotel. Ok…let me bore you with some photos 😉
Day 1
First stop – To see some smelly reptiles
My Lil’ Ms Diva insisted on wearing the pink cap and sunnies for the trip. She also said that Charlie hasn’t seen any crocodiles before so she had to go along.
Crocodiles are the same everywhere if you asked me but hubs and Ashley were pretty excited. Ashley even asked me what’s wrong with them…were they sleeping or dead because they weren’t moving 😀
Second Stop – Malacca City Center
We were famished by the time we reached the city center. There were long queues at every restaurant along Jonker Street. Blame it on the school holiday and the weekend. We decided to seek out other places and found ourselves at this charming, laid-back shabby chic restored Guesthouse at Lorong Hang Jebat.
The inside of the Guesthouse. I love how they use recycled Cable Spools as tables. The whole place looks like it’s falling apart. Awesome!
Ashley saw the drawing of a girl on the chalkboard and she thinks that’s her 🙂 I didn’t take any pictures of the food cos we were really hungry (it took them quite a while to prepare the Aglio Olio pasta for me, egg/tomatoes sandwiches for Ashley and hubs.
Third Stop – Checked into the hotel
My sisters and mom joined us for one night in Malacca. After they arrived, we checked into the hotel and rested for a while.
Fourth Stop – Menara Taming Sari
Before we went looking for dinner, we stopped by Menara Taming Sari, Malaysia’s First Revolving Gyro Tower. The air-conditioned viewing cabin goes up 80 meters to offer passengers a spectacular and panoramic view of the Historical Malacca City. It cost RM10 per adult and RM5 per child.
Fifth Stop – Dinner at Peranakan Restaurant
We had dinner at the Peranakan Restaurant on Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock (Herren Street). My sister found this restaurant on the internet and it had great reviews.
This is what greeted us when we walked into the restaurant. Impressive interior filled with lots of antiques.
Our food – Nonya fish curry, Otak-otak, Ayam Pongteh, Steamed Okra with Sambal, Braised Cabbage and Fried Noodles. The meal was ok…not that fantastic though. Our dinner was around RM85. Not bad huh?
After dinner, we walked around Jonker Street which is like pasar malam at night 🙂 That’s it for Day 1. Will post more tomorrow 🙂
Yes we miss you! 🙂

We’ve been away for a mini weekend getaway too hehe 🙂 but it wasn’t as great as your Melaka trip lah. Except for the Croc Farm, we’ve never been to (or heard of) these places here although we’ve been to Melaka many times already.
each time anyone goes to melaka, i must check check check all the places / food they went to try. no doubt everything is too exciting there, but we always go to our old time favourite.
