our road trip to bagan lalang

After hearing so much about Sepang Gold Coast/Morib Beach, Bagan Lalang, we finally made a trip there over the weekend.   The drive was about an hour and we started out late. Made a few pitstops to the gas station, washroom, etc and we finally reached the beach around noon.  It was a hot day.

the beach near the Sepang Gold Coast resort.  Look impressive from here.

The missy insisted on changing to this batik outfit when we reached the beach

Next time, we should start our journey early so we can reach  the beach before 10am.  After some fun in the sun, we drove for about 20 minutes to Tanjung Sepat in search of the famous pau shop. Tanjung Sepat is a small fishing town Kuala Langat, Selangor.  It is well-known for its seafood restaurants, keropok, bak kut teh and fishballs. The GPS took us to this coffeeshop – Hai Yew Hin which is famous for its “sang yuk pau”, “mui choy pau”, “vege pau”, “peanut and red bean paus“.  In case you don’t know, you can eat all the above at this coffee shop BUT, you cannot have takeaway.  Means, No Tapau.  Don’t know what kind of crazy service this is.  You can have takeaway but you got to buy them from their shop/factory across the road.   So, I went over and all were sold out.

No choice but to sit in the coffeeshop for a while to savor the famous pau.  Hubs ordered 3 ‘sang yuk’ paus.  I wasn’t in the mood to eat because it was such a hot and stuffy day.   I took a small bite.  Don’t know why they are so famous because they tasted so-so to me.  Nothing spectacular 😀

Next, we went to search for the Lover’s Bridge, a landmark in this fishing town.  Found it after a few missed turns.

This is the famous bridge.  3/4 of it is made of concrete and the balance made of wooden planks.  This is actually where the fishing boats are moored.  I enjoyed coming here.  It’s very breezy.  I bet it must be beautiful at sunset.  A must-see if you are a visitor to this village.

I only dared to walk about 10 feet on this bridge.  I have this fear of crossing bridges.  Even pedestrian bridge.  Hubs took Ashley all the way towards the wooden planks and came back.  I guess she’s not scared like her mama 🙂  If only he held my hand too….then perhaps I won’t be so scared =^_^= Ok…that’s all for now.   Will post more about our trip tomorrow.  Do stay tuned.

We nearly went there over the weekend with my in-laws. It was cancelled at the very last minute although we had everything planned out already. Anyway, we’ve been there last year and I agree that the HYH pau is so-so only.

Ashley looks so stylish in her batik outfit. She must have made heads turn! 😉

  3. Health Freak says:

Your lil’ missy can really pose and she even let out an alluring smile there hehe! Yeah, what kind of crazy rule is that on the no take-away policy? That will surely piss many people off.

I absolutely love the little model in her batik outfit!!

About the pau, I think jatuh standard a little bit already. I found it not as fluffy during my latest trip. Mebbe biz too good.

Looking forward to the 2nd part of your post! 🙂

Ashley’s batik outfit is very sexy.. She looks so cute in it. I don’t think I would go to the beach in such hot weather.

Finally you make a trip there. The beach you go is before the sepang gold coast resort? We went is further up, after the round about.

Too bad, during our last trip there, it’s already night, we didn’t savour the famous pau and also didn’t get to see the “whole” lover bridge. Love the 5th picture, on the lover bridge, nice!

Wah, this Ashley, look at her cheeky smile on the second picture!

hehe…Barb, why scared when there is no water below? That is the one in front of one famous sea food restaurant, right?
