Ashley loves animals and the last time when we were in Malacca, she was kinda upset that we did not stop at the Malacca Zoo. We brought her there last year and so we decided to skip it. Since she has recovered from hfmd and it’s the long weekend, we took her to the Zoo Negara to see her favourite animals. We were there last year too I think.
The girl armed with a map. She already told us that we have to get her a map so that she’ll know where the locations of the animals are.
First stop is to the Children’s World where the Miniature Horses are. Their names are Hobbit and Wizard. Aren’t they cute?
We managed to catch the Live Show at the Zoo Amphitheatre. We saw performances by the eagles, parakeets, seal and an 18-year old sea lion named Bart.
Flocks of Flamingoes. The missy was thrilled to see her favourite Pink animal/birds. That was the first thing she checked out from the map 🙂 She even wore her Flamingo hairband just so that the flamingoes may think that she is one of them…hahahahaha
One of the highlights of the zoo trip is seeing the mudskippers in the Aquarium section. This is our first time seeing this fish. Ashley was thrilled to see fishes that could walk and skip 🙂 She saw one with only one eye and she felt really sorry for the poor mudskipper as I told her that the fish has dropped its eye somewhere.

Besides the above, we saw goats, mousedeers, birds, reptiles, cats, storks, pelicans, elephants, giraffes, fishes, bears, apes, monkeys, crocodiles, birds, tortoise, etc. The zoo was packed with visitors on Sunday. The sky started to look gloomy when we left at around 1pm. It was a very fun trip and the missy said we have to go back again next year 🙂
I haven’t even taken my kids to Zoo Negara. Heard that it isn’t very good compared to the one in Taiping. Glad Ashley had a fun time! Such a treat after being down with hfmd! 🙂
As long as Ashley likes, nothing is impossible.. 🙂 like me, i love food so travel a bit also never mind..
Hmm, Zoo is always children fav place to visit. Barb, my fav is the flamingo… Next time, come to visit us at Taping, then we plan a trip to Taiping Zoo and tag along with Yvonne , Yan and Hayley too.
Gwen also likes the flamingoes. I bought her a flamingo Tee from Gymboree..hehe.
I’m kinda bored with Zoo Negara but still have to bring Gwen there again next time.
Love the little horses. So cute!
Glad to know she has recovered already 🙂
I likee the flamingos!
Hobbit and wizard, lol! Should name them Frodo and Samwise instead! Does Ashley get to sit on the horse?
I have yet to bring my kids to any zoo. Perhaps should make a visit to my hometown zoo and introduce real-life animals to them 🙂
I support Angeline’s idea here. My husband actually asked me whether wanted to go to Bird Park last week, but I wanted to utilise all my time in shopping. We can’t go to the big mall every week, so I am like a hungry shopping ghost everytime I go KL.
I was too busy to bring my girl to Zoo Negara, luckily, her music teacher had a plan for her and she brought her to Zoo Negara today. Hopefully, my girl would have some fun there too.
We just came back from Malacca Zoo not long ago. It was fun too.
Btw, am not selling the books but you are welcome to borrow if you wish
Glad to see your little girl up and about, and to the zoo too! Good thing that she enjoyed herself again. You must have feel relief.
My son just visited the zoo with his schoolmates. They spend a day there doing volunteering work, feeding and bathing the animals as part of their school project.
Then my daughter and her classmates were given a free trip to Bird Park as a reward for doing well in the recent UPSR.
A good way to spend their holidays, right?
Yet to bring my kids to zoo…
I haven’t took my kids to Zoo Negara before too. The children’s world look not bad. Maybe will bring them one of these days.
ashley is smart, at she aske for a map, saves her time wandering around to look for animals..hehe
back to the zoo again ? call me next time k ? Looking back at my Sg zoo photos.. Zoo Negara ain’t that bad. We have better flamingos than Sg Zoo and flamingos are very very important to Ash and Amber ,, right ? no ?
A bit scared to visit zoo now after reading the gibbon attack at Malacca zoo. Grgghhh…
oh yes, i’m scared too. we were at the Malacca zoo last year and we visited the said area where the little boy was attacked. I was surprised to see that the place was not fenced up and there were a few monkeys swinging around and some looked pretty menacing. I even let Ashley roam around that area on her own…with us walking at the back. Too scary to know that the monkeys could just come over and attack humans.
