Entering Primary 2

Ashley’s classroom is now on the 2nd floor this year so her aunts bought her the Airlite backpack from Swan which is supposed to protect the backbone with its “spinal muscle” backbone cushion design. ย This bag cost a bomb ๐Ÿ™ ย It is heartbreaking to see kids going up the staircase lugging a heavy bag. This is the norm in a Chinese school. ย There are so many books to bring every day and no lockers in the school.

The back

This is a complimentary bag from Swan which Ashley will be using to put her exercise books. ย Yup, she may need to carry 2 bags to school *cry*

This school bag looks indeed expensive and nice. The complimentary bag has Barbie that Ashley likes best.

Nice school bag Ash’s got there. Ian also uses backpack since std 2. Some of the kids use trolley bags as the parents say they’d rather change their bags every few months than damaging their spines but the way they pull their bags up and down the staircase really send chills up my spine. ๐Ÿ™

I watched in horror when some of the kids lug the trolley bags up 2 floors. Poor kids ๐Ÿ™ After recess on the first day, the principal decided that all Standard 2 kids move to the 1st floor instead. They must have received lots of complaints from parents. 1st floor is vacant anyway ๐Ÿ˜›

That’s a lovely bag in pink for Ashley. Poor little thing having to carry such heavy bags at a young age. She needs to add muscle to her petite frame.

  4. mumsgather says:

Yup! My girl carries two bags to school. A cheap RM10 backpack and an expensive trolley bag which she keeps for a few years. *Shakes head*

  5. yvonne says:

Oh, they have this special backpack which takes care of the kiddo’s back bone?

My girl is still using her old trolley school bag and her new classroom is on the 1st floor too ๐Ÿ™
Maybe I’ll get her this kind of bag once her current one spoils.

I wanted to get one of those spinal care backpacks for my girls but not sure if they are really effective. And they are really costly eh? How much is Ashley’s bag?

My children also used to carry two bags to school during their primary days but thank god, it’s back to one now they are in secondary.

Just to share. I was introduced to this taiwanese brand of school bag. It is amazingly spacious and light but it cannot be found in normal departmental stall. The brand is UnMe. You can check out this link http://www.unme.com.my/en/taiwan_bck.html.

There is a brand in Kepong but the variety is limited. There is a big outlet in Ipoh, jln temenggung. I bought my boy’s from there. Lots of different sizes. The trolley bag is very light. My friend informed that it is very lasting as well.

    • Barbara says:

Thanks Joanne. The bag range looks good. Only weigh 900g. So much lighter than Swan. Will consider this brand when Ashley needs a new bag ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Joanne says:

Oh… And the price is almost like swan. Te backpacks cost rm180. I am not sure about trolley bags.

  10. Ivy says:

i bought the same bag for my boy, but blue color..it really cost a bomb
.but think of the functions, the money well spent der..it comes with a year warranty too..
