Ever since Ashley started her primary education, she has been eating her dinner in the car. That is because school finishes at 6.30pm on Monday and Tuesday and 6pm on the rest of the days. This time is usually the peak rush hour and it takes us an hour or more to reach home. Once we were stuck in the jam for over 3 hours. Crazy!
What I do is prepare her meal the night before and then keep it in the refrigerator. Then next morning, I would reheat the dishes in the office. I would buy the rice from the stall at the coffeeshop. Ashley eats lunch at the office before going to school. I would keep another portion for her to eat for dinner. So this old faithful has been keeping the food warm for Ashley every day.
Thermos food jar
It contains a big jar which I put the rice and dishes in. 2 small containers for other foods. If I have soup that day, I would keep the soup in the big jar and the rice and dishes in the 2 small containers.
Eating her meal in the car.
The thermos food jar is really convenient and a lifesaver *wink* I don’t have to worry about Ashley’s dinner every day when we are stuck in the traffic jam daily.
Good idea Barb
Well planning. Else, your little girl will be so hungry in the car when stuck in the jam.
I love Thermos food jar .. I bought one for my girl – hot food during winter time.
Oh..Ashley is in the afternoon session ah. Yes good idea to use food jar to keep the food warm so that Ashley can eat in the car.
I see that many bloggers’ kids eat their meals in the car due to time constraint. Do you put her food in a huge tray or basin? Poor Ashley, have to eat in the car, my kids have never needed too, thankfully and hopefully wont need to. OMG, 3 hrs to reach home!! Did Ashley ever have the urge to pee or poo while being stuck in the jam?
Barb, you are well-planned person. Thumbs up for organizing the meals for Ashley in such a way.
