Missy received an iPad on her 8th birthday and since then she has access to the internet. Initially, she went on the internet to play a bit of online games such as Talking Ben, Subway Surfers, Dragon City and more. These days, she has her own Facebook account so that she can stay in touch with her friends, discuss school homework and etc. She also goes on Youtube to watch music videos of her favourite singers like Taylor Swift and Meghan Trainor. I have set rules for her on internet usage and she has to let me know who she befriends online and must not accept any requests without asking for my permission. I have been monitoring the activities and also set Parental control to the Youtube videos as well as Facebook. However, this is not 100% foolproof and I am still afraid of the many dangers online.
The internet is great and it makes our lives easier in terms of communication and social activity. However there are many dangers which threaten the safety of children. As our children grow and discover new experiences, we as parents have to take more and different steps to ensure their safety. They are at a vulnerable stage in their lives and are more trusting than adults. Children are not equipped to deal with some issues such as exposure to inappropriate content and contact with people who may exploit them. Cyber-bullying is on the rise and just how to stop cyber bullying? We have to it before it starts by monitoring what our kids do online on a regular basis.
We need to keep our children safer online and the best thing that can do it is Familoop, a parental control software. This protection tool works well with most devices and offers parents a snapshot view of their kids’ digital friends and activities. Familoop – Parental control software is designed to identify digital threads and helps parents to protect their kids. Parents need not set up individual controls on each device that the children are using because Familoop Safeguard allows parents to manage all of these under one device. This app analyzes all of the child’s online activities and notify parents of any suspicious activities. It will block inappropriate websites, pictures and videos.
This product is launching in September 2015 and parents can opt-in early and get an incredible 60% discount when it is launched. So smart parents, hurry and check out Familoop Safeguard if you want internet safety for kids.
