Tua Pek Kong Temple Lumut

On our recent trip to Lumut to visit our friends who have moved into their new home,  they brought us to visit the famous Tua Pek Kong Temple in Kampung Pasir Panjang, Sitiawan.  This temple is over 100 years old and has gone through some renovation and expansion.

It was a very hot day when we visited the temple and we only took a quick tour.  It has gigantic statues of the deities.

Missy wanted to pose as a General. It’s funny.

After touring the temple, we walked over to corner to look at the Lumut sea.  The temple overlooks the ocean and there are 11 gigantic statues of the deities facing the sea.  I did not take a photo that day because it was too hot to stand in the courtyard to snap a photo and I didn’t want anyone to wait for me.

The best time to visit the Tua Pek Kong temple is during the evening and night.  The temple would be brightly lit and the sight is beautiful.

I have not visited Lumut for 30 years!! The last time I went there was when I was 14 years old, for camping. I miss this place, esp. Pangkor Island. Would love to revisit Lumut and Pangkor Island one day, very soon and this time, with our girls.
