My Hong Kong Trip 2023

My sisters and I just returned from a holiday in Hong Kong as I have won a Cathay Pacific air ticket and asked them to join me. Of course they have to pay for their own tickets *chuckle*. It was a good break and this is my first overseas holiday after the pandemic.

I love Hong Kong and it was good to be back. We were there for 5 days 4 nights and walked between 15k to 22k steps every day. I was expecting cooler weather but it was hovering around 24 deg C at night to 27 deg C during the day. Bummer! I didn’t get to wear thicker clothes that I have purchased such as my denim jacket.

We covered several familiar places such as Central, Causeway Bay, Stanley Market, Kowloon, Mongkok and Sai Ying Pun where we stayed.  Our hotel is WE Hotel located on the Eastern Street. It is a really nice hotel and the room is very clean and spacious, unlike the previous hotels I have stayed in Hong Kong. There is room for luggage bags and enough walking space for the 3 of us.

Here are some photos taken during our trip. Missing Hong Kong and having post holiday blues right now!

Our hotel room that fits 3 beds.

View from outside the hotel. See the steep uphill?  It’s quite challenging to walk up there but we did it on Day 2 for breakfast at a quaint cafe called Missing Piece.

Sai Ying Pun is filled with shops that sell dried goods (hoi mei). This one is just across the street from WE Hotel.

Took this walkway in Mongkok. I have watched many Hong Kong dramas and movies that feature this green walkway.
