Ashley has been unwell since Tuesday. She has fever, throat infection and cough. The fever doesn’t seem to go away eventhough I started her on Augmentin antibiotics 🙁 Took her to the paed 3 times already this week. 1st time was to see what was wrong. Came back with fever, cough and throat meds. Then when fever persisted, we went back and was prescribed with Augmentin antibiotics. This evening her fever went up to 39 degree Celcius and I panicked. Inserted a supppository and the fever went down. So, we took her to the paed again to see why her fever is still there. Was told that it takes between 48 to 72 hours for the antibiotics to kick in and her throat is really red 🙁 The paed asked us to monitor again and fever is still there tomorrow, we’ll have to go to the clinic again …….sigh. I didn’t want to send her to another paed for 2nd opinion because she is on antibiotics and I don’t want her to stop it before finishing the course. Making me so worried and paranoid. Don’t have the mood to do anything at all. I pray that her fever would go away tomorrow and I can stop giving her any paracetamol. Though she is sick, Ashley is still active as usual.

Poor Ashley and mummy… My daughter was having bad fever of 39degrees for few days 2 months back and I can totally understand how you feel… Take care of yourself too yeah?
Mamabok is right. Active is good and you dont have to worry much. Just monitor her fever and let her drink lots of water. If the fever still persists after the 5 days of antibiotics, I think you will have to bring her to the paed again. The paed will extend the same antibiotics for another 2 days to a max of 7 days. That was what happened to Alycia recently when she had throat infection.
Don’t worry too much, she is still active. I understand about the “no mood” of yours. Concentrate on her first and you rest well too. May she be well soon.

Ashley’s symptoms are exactly like Ryan. Ryan is also on Augmentin now. Hope they both recover soon. I think weather is really bad. Sigh.
