The last day of the Chinese New Year

During Chap Goh Mei which is the last day of the Chinese New Year celebration (Day 15th), we decided to make a trip to Tasik Taman Jaya in Petaling Jaya to witness their yearly celebration.   Many singles would be there to throw Mandarin oranges into the lake, hoping for romance.  We thought we would be there to soak in the fun and excitement.   Red lanterns were lined up all the way towards the mini stage at the lake.  We walked to the mini stage and saw a ddm4000, amplifier and chairs for the visitors who want to watch the performance.  Alas, we didn’t stay long enough to watch the singers on stage nor the throwing of the mandarin oranges into the lake.  It started to rain about 15 minutes after we arrived.  We had to take shelter at the park for over an hour.  By the time the rain stopped, we were feeling restless and walked over Amcorp mall instead for some ice-cream.

Photo taken from the shelter where we stood.  Still drizzling.

I guess we’ll go again next year to witness the throwing of Mandarin oranges into the lake and hopefully it won’t rain on that day.
