100 degree Celsius Steamboat

Last Sunday, we felt like having steamboat for dinner so hubs suggested that we try the 100 Degree Celsius Steamboat in Kuchai Lama since we always pass by this restaurant but have not tried it.Β Β  What’s unique is their special types of soups.Β  There are 11 different soups to choose from such as Original, Tom Yum, Porridge Soup, Curry, Fish Head Soup, Herbal Soup, Bak Kut Teh, Golden Porridge Soup, Sweet & Sour Soup and etc.Β  Being non-adventurous types, we ordered Original soup which is actually plain broth πŸ˜›Β  What I also like is the different sauces available to go with the steamboat.

A look at the counter where all the sauces are.

We ordered the rm39.90 set for 3 of us.Β  Check out the different sauce we took.Β  I had the Hainanese chilli sauce, sweet garlic sauce, sambal with lots of garlic and oil with fried shallots.

Everyone has their own pot of soup

There are 2 types of sitting arrangements in this restaurant.Β  One is the regular table and chairs and the other is theΒ  traditional Japanese Tatami style where we have to remove our shoes and sit on timber flooring with our legs under the table.Β  This is the first time Ashley tried this seating arrangement and she was pretty excited that we all left our shoes at the bottom of the stairs.Β  She was dancing and rolling on the timber flooring *slaps forehead*Β  Here she is doing a yoga pose.

Overall, we like the ambiance and the food although I felt very thirsty after dinner.Β  Must be the MSG in the chilli/garlic sauce.Β  We’ll definitely go back again to try other soup base…maybe Bak Kut Teh?

Tried this pretty often cause it is just near my place. Price is reasonable, food is fresh but the bak kut teh soup quality is diff every time i go =( sometimes can be spicy (too peppery). You may want to apply a member card so can get some discount =)

Thanks Penny πŸ™‚ Will lookout for the member card next time when I’m there. Yeah..the bak kut teh is different each time….sometimes taste the same as the herbal soup πŸ™‚
