Barley Drink

I started boiling unsweetened barley water for Ashley once a week when she turned 1. My mum has also asked me let her drink a herbal tea called “chat sing cha” (7 star) to reduce heatiness. I also boil it once a week. Thank goodness she drinks them without fuss. Still with these drinks, 1 fruit a day and lots of water, she still develops pimple/cyst on her eye 🙁 Even her poo poo is quite hard sometimes. I can’t imagine what would happen if she doesn’t take any of this.

My 2 gals LOVE barley too. Though the ‘san soke yee mai’ tastes a bit wierd, they still loved it, especially munching on the barley bits.

My mom has barley constantly boiling in her kitchen and we all drank barley all the time when we were kids.

Perhaps you can give her some fibre for her poo poo?

    Errr…

Chat sing char is only meant to be drunk once a month la. Maybe it’s all the dried fruit she eats? I dunno..ha ha ha..to me, I always constipate if I eat too much dried fruit..!

shireen – i havent tried giving ashley any of those barley bits 😀

frankensteina – thanks for your suggestion 😀 I give her apples, prunes and oats but still the same thing 🙁

mott – oh no..i didn’t know that chat sing char is meant to be drunk only once a month. the lady who recommended me to this said she gives her 3 year old son twice a week 🙁 ashley doesn’t eat a lot of dried fruits….the packet lasts her maybe 3 or 4 days eventhough there’s not much in there 😀

actually hor..apple can cause constipation. prunes….i find no use.

best is really papaya…! i give the 2 monkeys papaya every other day. they poo everyday. no worries…like I say, i will miss this fruit alot when i go.

u can cut half a big papaya, cling wrap, put in fridge for another day.
