Price Increase

My mother went to the market yesterday morning and bought the usual vegetables and fruits for me. She also went to our favourite coffeeshop to buy a packet of curry noodles for my husband and pan mee for herself. When she came home, she told me that she was surprised to find that these 2 stalls have increased the prices of the noodles. It used to be RM3.50 for a bowl and now, it cost RM4.00. The ‘pan mee’ was RM4.00 each and now it cost RM4.50. A whopping 50 cents increase??? This is crazy! Just last week, the newspaper announced that the price of bread will increase and I know everything else will follow but I didn’t realised it’s going to be this much. I heard that the gas/petrol price will also increase next year and oh, of course the toll too. Are we heading towards recession?
