stressful long weekend
Posted on Nov 06, 2010 under ashley | 20 CommentsA continuation from the previous post. Ashley’s knee swell and became really red on Tuesday. Then the next day, she fell and hurt the knee at the office. She screamed her head off after she fell and her knee area became redder. We brought her to the E&A of Pantai Hospital the next day. The paediatric surgeon advised that she be admitted so that the abscess can be opened and drained immediately.
Ashley was put under General Anaesthesia for the minor surgery which lasted for about 30 mins. The wound area is pretty big and the doctor had to insert the packing into the wound to stop the bleeding 
Both of us stayed at the hospital for one night and requested for home leave. She still needs to go back to the hospital twice a day for the dressing and IV antibiotics. Each time the doctor does the dressing, she’ll scream her head off Doc said the wound area is healing properly and she’ll need the antibiotics for a few more days. *sigh* It is so heartbreaking and stressful to see her going through this. Thank God that she does not fuss a lot although she is in lots of pain. I think a short beach holiday or one of those Orlando vacations would be a great idea to de-stress

a tiny bite can turn into so bad
. Maybe some kind of insects that lay eggs under the skin.

Surprising that she needs surgery. It doesn’t look that bad, then again, I guess the trend these days is to suggest surgery for everything and anything, not a last resort any more. Hope she feels better soon

OMG Barb, I haven’t visited your blog for a few days and then today I saw these pix of Ashley. I feel for you and Ashley. I’m glad it’s only a minor op and that she’s better now. Take care!

Oh no!!! Poor Baby Gaga!!! That is REALLY, REALLY painful…..she is so brave. We always have to be very careful with infections and never take the smallest wound for granted. Last time, my uncle had a pin prick on his finger. You can’t even see the prick but over a few days, don’t know how, it got infected. It got so badly infected that he needed surgery and had to install a metal pin inside his finger to function again. So scary. I really hope her wound heels soon with as little pain as possible. My heart goes out to her and her parents.
How come Tessa didn’t get that bed side padding when she’s stayed there?? Hrmph…and I always had to worry how I can keep her from falling off the bed!

Oh Barb, that wound looks so bad, and only from a mosquito bite! Poor Ashley, it must be so painful….I see she is a very brave girl. I hope she will feel better very soon. You too Barb, must de-stress somehow….beach vacation sounds good to me! hehe Take care all. Hugs

sorry Barb to read about this..i have not been blog hopping due to traveling up and down..
just a bite from mosquito can cause this? I think it must be very “tok”.. bisa. Wish Ashley speedy recovery.. poor girl..but with a thumbs up, means she will be alright!

reading yr post from newest to oldest. the swell is really humongous.. very scary looking. when you told me I tot it was much smaller and i think the fell made it worst,, the toxins are impacted and pushed in. Poor Ash ! eh.. the last photo, she really looks like you.
