The Strap

These days whenever we go to the mall and Ashley is not on her stroller, we use the hand strap on her. She loves to run around so this is good as we don’t have to chase after her. Of course, we get a lot of stares and unkind remarks but I don’t care anymore. Once when I was in a store, I heard some older children pointing at Ashley and said she looked like a dog. At first I ignored them but after a few times, I told them loudly that she is NOT a dog. When their mother heard that, she quickly reprimanded her children 😀 Maybe this is not a common thing in Asian countries. I was in Ikano over the weekend and a caucasian lady who was walking towards me, laughed and said, “This is a good idea”. 😀

I bought one for Ryan too last time but did not use it in the end. I can’t shake of the perception that it does look like a human leash. However, perhaps it is time to change that view as little girls are not safe in public these days. We can never be too careful.

I have one given by my SIL but too short. I think is a good idea… don’t care what others say… as long as Asley is safe and within your sights… that’s more important.

I agree with imms, whether we like it or not, it is definitely not a pretty sight. Inadvertably there will be negative remarks from passers by. But then again, who will feel sorry for us when something goes wrong wor? Follow our heart… 😀 Oh, but even with the band, you must be careful and don’t leave her out of your sight. Nowadays, it’s no longer safe anywhere. Scary….

I had wanted to purchase one for my girls too when they were younger but didn’t know where to get it. With my 3rd child, perhaps I may get it. Good idea and nothing matters more than our child’s safety, right?

Ashley will let you strapped her? Woww..that’s good. I totally agree to use the strap or harness. We only used once on Brae. He kept struggling.

Good that Ashley willing let u hand strap her. Ya, don’t care how other ppl look at u, who will care when our kids gone missing. My both boys are lazy bum, they lazy to walk, they only want us to carry them. *faint*

Those criticizing people are very kampong minded…..

  15. Mummy to QiQi says:

many bad things ppl can say out about using this strap. But for some parents, child safety is even more important, regardless what others thought about it. So, use it when u think it suits you, regardless what anyone tells you 🙂

  16. sue says:

Way to go, tell them off la… when they get lost then they’ll know 😛

Or you can tell people it’s an extension of your arm kekeke…

  17. Big Pumpkin says:

Better safe than sorry, I say! I used to have a pink one for Tee but she kept running around, falling, twisting herself, whining…..so I gave up. I just forced the stroller on her – Hahaha!!
