Ashley did not like to drink water when she was a baby. After she had her first fever when she was one year old, her paed advised me to let her drink more water. I became paranoid and kept pushing her to drink water. It was not easy and there were lots of crying and tantrums each time I asked her to drink 🙁 Eventually she started to drink more and cried less whenever I hand her the cup. Ashley is the kind of kid who would not ask for food or water. Therefore I won’t know when she’s hungry or thirsty so I sort of keep a schedule in my head…….9.3am – breakfast, 11.30am – 1 cup of water, 12.30 – lunch, etc. My mum thinks that I am giving Ashley A LOT of water now and feels that she could drink less :S I did some calculations and found that Ashley is drinking about 1.3 litres a day. This is excluding the milk she takes 3 x a day. She doesn’t like juices so I’m giving her only plain water. However she is starting to like Vitagen 😀 So, how much water do your kids drink?

i think as long dont constipate will do.
from what u mentioned 1.3l + milk… quite a lot. its almost 7 cups like adults dy
wah we adult also drink 1.5 , she can drink 1.3 L that’s a lot. Mine i think 1 L only. Max Max including milk. *shy*
wow, u r really dedicated mummy!
I never give water to the kids in fixed intervals… sometimes they drink a lot, sometimes they refuse to drink :S
i’m having prob with giving my girl water. she doesn’t like drinking water. even vitagen she doesn’t like. she still have 3 times milk of 240ml though. i think drink more water is better tan less water..haha
my son also not like to drink water, but if given him yakult, milo or vitagen, he will finish it…i feed or force him to drink water and juice every day…headache.
Mine drinks a lot too but I dunno how much….water is good for health though in moderation. Heard that too much can cause thinning of blood. However, I do not know what is considered as “too much”. Definitely not 1.5L….probably 1.5 gallons!
1.3l for a 3yo toddler seems a lot. I nag my gals to drink lots of water too but I dont think they drink as much as Ashley.
Chloe would only drink water.. a lil bit of juice.. a day.. milk in the morning and nite.. and a wee bit of pop.. sometimes.. water is her main thing. I think she drinks a bottle every meal.. sometimes more.
That’s a LOT of water – wow! Tee only drinks between 600-900ml per day and that is including milk.
Have you read my water posts??
