Last Friday morning, after dropping Ashley off in her class, I quickly left. As I was walking out of the classroom, I heard Ashley’s teacher asking her to pass up her homework. Oooopppss…..! I didn’t even know she has homework. Bad mommy. It was the first week of school and I thought perhaps the school won’t start giving homework until later. Then when I came to get Ashley after school, her teacher told me that she has homework to do. Guess it’s a lil reminder to blur parents like me…..hehhehehehe. How embarrassing. From that day onwards, I have been checking her bag 😀 Yes, there’s homework everyday. Only 5 years old (4 years and 8 months) and she has homework. Poor kiddo 🙁 Got to find something to reward or motivate her. Sweets, gold coins, toys perhaps?
I tell you nowadays, when kids go to school, we parents yg tension sangat! The teachers, give homework like nobody’s business. I know of parents who helped to colour their child’s book… hahahaha..
ooppss.. I can’t even finish my own homework ! (laundry, bla bla bla).. how to help hers ? luckily 4 yr olds not burdened w homework yet.
Wah..1st week of school already has homework and she is only 5 years old…haha. My turn will come very soon. 🙂
oh…poor thing!!! Hope the homework is easy!
sigh…..homework is tough..n seriously, i dont recall doing any homework when i was in kindy. or maybe i hv a bad memory…
hahaha, i think i’m more blur than you, barb. One day Avery brought home some books and I thought they were for 2nd semester – i kept them and the next day the teacher asked for the books….
me and my own assumption!
aiyo… 2nd week already got homework ah.. stress for mummy… hehehe..
poor thing!! so fast got homework. yah, the gold coin might just do the trick…hehehhe
hahahaha! Yeah, Darrius was given homework even on the first week! Luckily I checked his bag else he won’t tell me… 😛 Another thing, he always forget to pass them up! so now you know why I vomit blood everyday? 😆
Hope Ashley will fair better than my lazy bum!
That kindy is quite strict about homework. Some more got exams at the end of each semester and got class ranking!! My niece always gets “5”……from the bottom hahahahahaha
yea, last week i was surprise to see my sons got homework over the weekend. Last year they got homework on weekdays. Since now is first two weeks of school, so the homework is quite easy but with 7-8 pages writting numbers, and memories four short sentences. 🙁
When Ethel was 2 yrs and 9 mths i sent her to one nursery and almost everyday she came back with homework which i think quite tough for her.i tried my best to help n reward her, but she got so frustrated at times. Inmagined she has to write ABC without lines…siao. bcos of that she refused to go and cried everyday.
So, sam tung then stopped the nursery.
Now i sent her to this new one…so far so good she is happy. Even though i see she has some homework, but just pretty simple for her and normally she will complete it at school and not bringing back. With that she can have some time to play.
April and May also have homework everyday. To my point view, this is quite good also, as this practice can make sure they study and do homework constantly.
Wah tension-nya after reading all the mummies’ comments here… I don’t mind the homework as long as it’s not too much and beyond their capability. Kesian kids these days… 🙁
serious? homework everyday? so far my ashley doesnt have any homework yet 😛
Terry’s principal told me that 2nd half year of age 4 will have homework too on weekends…so not surprise for age 5 to have homework…hope she can cope well and get use to it so that she won’t ‘faint’ later when reach Pri 1.
i remembered last time, my dad helped me on coloring homework! hahahahhaha… stress nye!
every day?! gosh! even my Primary school girls dun have homework everyday! poor Ashley… sayang
aiya really super kiasu to give out homework daily la…if we do all the homework with the kids the teachers don’t need to teach so much la! for kindy, once a week over the weekend i guess it’s ok..but daily…super torturing for both mom & kid leh!
Luckily I have my mum who checks HQ’s bag for homework, and makes sure he finishes them :-). When I get back from work, HQ is already on his way to zzzland, no way can finish his homework 🙂
Nowadays kids are given homework in school. poor them. Luckily my kid’s school no homework for him at his age 4. Weekend give homework still fine, but not daily for such young kids.
