I read about this tip from ReNest.com. If you want to outlaw the use of bleach, maybe you could give this a try. Get a big pot, toss in the scruffy socks, cover them with water and boil them with a slice of lemon or two. Remove them after ten minutes. The socks will be bright and not to mention, smell like some lemonade (I’m kidding). I haven’t tried this method before. Let me know the results if you have tried it. Besides being a great fat burner like apidexin, lemons make wonderful natural cleaning products that can be used at home.

I saw my confinement lady used this method on my white kitchen cloth. It worked perfectly. I’ve tried it once only, because I still prefer using bleach.
thanks 4 d tip. I will have to bookmark this fo future reference cos i don need to use white socks yet hehhe..
my grandma used to do that!
Thank u for the tip. Will try that soon 🙂 after I buy a big cheap pot haha
Thanks for sharing. But then the pot used to boil the socks would be forever and ever condemned???? hahahaha
Why not get Amah to tell us?? ehhehehhe
My grandmothers time, we only boil kitchen towels cos want to get rid of germs, etc.
Eh liddat need a dedicated pot for socks?? Can’t imagine using the same pot again for cooking after that 😉
I also learned lemon is useful in a lot of cleaning tasks. I used lemon to wash the stubborn tea stain on my cup.
