Last week, hubs went to Ashley’s school to get her homework since she did not go to school for 3 days. In the stack of 13 books, there were 2 workbooks (one in English and one in Bahasa Malaysia) which I have never seen before. I think these 2 workbooks are for the children to do in school. When I flipped over to the page which Ashley is supposed to do, I was surprised to see this…
Do you think this is tough for a kindergarten kid? I don’t think I know what is the meaning of low on fuel when I was 6. I’m not sure what current teaching training involves, but maybe school authorities need to re-visit their online elementary education degrees to see what curriculum is age appropriate.
Asia? Visit Malaysia Year? You gotta be kidding me. I explained to Ashley what it was about and where to fill in the correct words. She doesn’t understand at all 🙁 I wonder who came out with these exercises for the kindergarten. Is Primary 1 tougher than this? What is your opinion?
Hope Ashley are getting better. Poor girl, not well but still have to do tonnes of homework!
Last time, I don’t even have homework from kindy..Now my 4yo son learning 5yo workbooks. Stress too..
a bit high standard..
It’s tough, and my girl’s homework also quite similar like Ashley – got Petronas Tower, KL Tower, Proton Saga to fill in the blank. I foresee many hair pulling session from Primary One onwards, next year. Heard that it’s tougher 🙁
Ashley’s school is known to give out tough homework. I think I’ll enrol Bryan for full time golf or tennis lessons!!!
oyo..when i was six.. i don’t even know what “cue” means!
CHEE SIN LA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Depends on the kids–I’m pretty sure I didn’t know how to read at that age.
Really, sounds tough for a 6 yo. Sigh, not easy huh these days…. =_=
Chloe’s kindy is extremely laid back in their homework. Ashley’s homework now are to prepare them for Primary 1, I guess as I’ve bought several Primary 1 workbooks for Chloe from Popular which have similar format.
wah, the bahasa is tough ! i only learnt the asia tenggara word when i was in secondary !
Barb, the school work for Ashley is quite similar to primary 1 standard. I guess the school is preparing the 6 years old group for the Primary 1 lesson.
Wow…I think it’s too tough for a 6 year old lah.
OMGodness…. the Malay… PENGSAN dulu! It’ll be a nightmare if I coach my girl on this kinda homework!
come Barb, let’s pull hair together gether!!!
This is tough lei, sometime i am too stress, i just give them answer, to make my life easier. But sometime i don’t even know what is the answer!!!!! AAARRGGGG!! Help!
gosh, i’m totally lost with BM! I’m such a banana….
Caitlyn is doing similiar english work book now in Vital years. shes able to read & write fluently. BM? hmmm..pretty advance! I think its pretty good 🙂
this is insane. U sure they did not give u the wrong book?
err….the 2 books have my daughter’s name on them and almost half the books have been completed 🙂
too difficult for a 6 yr old…
I can’t believe this is kindy standard!
This is like UPSR exam questions! Very advanced indeed @-@
My other kids hasnt done books like that (BM) when they were 6 yrs old in kindie… and when they went to Std 1, it was tough for them. So its good that her school is preparing her now, so when she goes next yr, it would be very easy for her.
This is just too much for a six years old, seven years old even! When I was seven, I don’t even know ABC or 123!
this is crazy.. ‘cue’ at 6 years old ? sigh….. I sincerely hope Std 1 will be a lot easier .
This is unbelievable esp the BM homework! The English one is quite advanced but I think that’s good if we’re serious about raising the levels of English. I hope the MOE knows what it’s doing with the KSSR curriculum…
