Ashley told me this last Thursday when she came back from school. This is what she said – ” Mom, you know something? Today teacher asked me to sweep the floor“. I was surprised and I thought perhaps her class teacher has allocated the chores for the kids in class like cleaning the white board, etc. I remember doing that when I was a kid and enjoyed it. I asked her why and did the rest of the class help out? She replied, “Because I sharpened my colour pencils on the floor. Only me and my friend (the girl sitting next to her) have to sweep the floor“. Hehehehehehehe….These 2 girls have thrown the pencil shavings on the floor. I told her that next time, she has to sharpen the pencils at the dustbin and must not leave the shavings on the floor. She doesn’t do that at home and I wonder why she did it in school. It is good that her teacher is teaching them to be responsible. When you dirty the classroom, you have to clean it up. Then she said something that made me burst out laughing. “Am I the maid now?” Ashley Oh Ashley!

Hah! Kids these days. Hope she’s enjoying school despite having to sweep the floor 🙂
My kids have to bring a small tupperware for keeping pencil shavings and a mini broom for sweeping their surroundings in school. Haha. So… how are you going to treat this new ‘maid’ you have at home? lol.
Wakakakaka! Really funny, luckily the teacher only demanded her to sweep floor, the fierce one may just cane those who dirty the floor. Hahahaha!
i wonder what would be the teacher’s reaction if she were to ask the teacher, ” am i the maid now?” when asked to sweep the floor..
LOL! So naive and cute~
But it’s good that her teacher forfeited them with cleaning. Can teach them about responsibility and cleanliness.
Hahaha….unexpected thing coming out from a 7 year old 🙂
Ashley oh Ashley….
You see! We live in a society where maids exist and have a purpose! But we cannot let our kids grow up thinking that! How-how-how???
Yes of course we cannot let the kids think like that. We don’t even have a maid at home 🙁 I guess we’ll just have to give her more chores to do…hehehehehe
LOL ! Good she didn’t think of that incident as bad. Glad she has a friend to sharpen colour pencils with. 🙂
Never mind la.. good training also… for sweeping the floor..
Haha, but this is good, she has to be responsible for what she did 😛
LOL. Kids. How they can do everything correctly at home and then be so clueless in school. Same thing with my girl. Nvm at least she learns to sweep the floor. Can help you at home now..hehe.
My children used unwanted papers and folded them into little square containers to hold the pencil shavings. That way, the shavings will not get dropped on the floor, both at home and in school. Give it a try!
LOL…clever thinking.
Haha..Ashley is real cute in her comment and this has make me to think of my girl’s remark as class monitor. Shenny told us that if she was chosen as class monitor, she can walk around in the class to check her classmate. Her role is just like a policeman. 🙂
LOL!! Ashley oh Ashley… she’s so cute and funny 😀 Now, I must warn Chloe not to do that in school next time. She doesn’t even know how to hold a broom, I think :p
hahahhahhahahhaha…she is so cute!
Actually at home, if my boys dirty the floor, i will ask them to sweep or mop the floor instead of asking the maid to do. I want them to know, if they dirty it in purpose, they have to clean it up.
Luckily she was not rotan-ed. Mine also very bossy. Must also task him with more housework.
