a little scare before the holidays

Just before the last of day of school, Ashley came down with a cold.   I gave her Esberitox to strengthen her immune system and lots of Vit C.  After a few days, her cold didn’t get better so I brought her to the paed.  We would be travelling in about a week’s time so I want her to get better soon.  Her paed gave her some cold meds and told me that Ashley’s throat was a little red.  I thought nothing about it until the next day.  She kept moving her tongue inside her mouth so I got her to open her mouth widely and took a look inside.  I saw a few ulcers inside her mouth and some on her throat.  Arrgggghhhhhhhhhhhh!  Alas, she had contracted HFMD for the 2nd time.  I just cannot believe it.  I kept asking her if the ulcers are painful and she said no.  There was no fever too.

I quickly brought her back to the paed the next day.  Her paed was shaking her head because she knew we’re going on our holiday soon.   She was surprised that Ashley didn’t feel any pain despite having so many ulcers.  Since there were no red dots/rashes on her, the paed thinks it’s another type of virus that she had contracted and not HFMD.  She was prescribed with Ibuprofen and advised to gargle her mouth with salt and drinking water.  Nothing much we can do but just pray that everything will be fine.  I also hopped over to the pharmacy to get this…

I didn’t manage to find the spray type the last round when Ashley had HFMD.

Guess what?  She had no pain or fever at all and everything was smooth-sailing during our holiday.  Yay!

Many fall sick recently, must be the bad weather. My daughter’s cough is on and off. It doesn’t go off instantly. Must increase fluid intake and reduce heaty food.
