…. from our holiday in the Land of Smiles 🙂 Sawadee ka!!! This is Ashley’s and my first trip to Bangkok while it is like the 2nd home to hubs.  We had such an amazing time.  Our friends in Bangkok made all of us feel so welcomed.  They insisted on taking us out every day to places that we would like to go.  The Thais are extremely polite and friendly. Warm hospitality and excellent service are their hallmarks.
We stayed at The Holiday Inn Bangkok. A very nice hotel and very centrally located. We highly recommend this modern hotel.
Having breakfast at the hotel. On the 2nd day, there was a magician walking around the restaurant entertaining kids. Forgot to snap a photo because I was enjoying the show very much.
As soon as we checked into the hotel, we were whisked away to Paesano Italian Restaurant for lunch. Paesano is very popular and they serve very good Italian food.

After lunch, we headed to Siam Paragon to visit Siam Ocean World. It was a very enjoyable place even for adults. We managed to catch the shark feeding show too.
She quickly sat on the shell throne and proclaimed that she’s Ariel.
After the show, we walked around Siam Paragon for some shopping (yes, we are all mall rats).  Then we had coffee and pastries at the stylish Mandarin Oriental Shop. It was fun to sit down, drink coffee and watch some very fashionable Thais go by.   One thing I notice is that there are many cafes in Bangkok and they are very packed.  The Thais just love drinking coffee.
We hung around the Siam Paragon till dinner time and met up with another friend and his family at Greyhound Cafe. Another nice eatery which is famous for its fusion Thai food.
The next day, we walked over to the famous Four Face Buddha shrine which is next to the Amarin. It wasn’t very crowded because it was still early.
Next, Ashley wanted to sit on the Tuk Tuk and so off we went. She thinks it’s fun but I was pretty scared especially when crossing the major intersections.
We hang around Terminal 21, a new shopping mall while waiting for our friends. This mall has a unique concept and every floor is decorated according to different famous cities in the world.
Our friends took us to Bangkara for the most yummylicious Ramen lunch.
Ain’t it funny that we had Italian and Japanese food while in Bangkok instead of Thai food huh? Actually we only managed to eat Tom Yum & seafood on the last night. As we have Ashley with us, it’s safer to have food that we are used to.
That’s about all for now.  Will blog more about my shopping loots tomorrow.
I miss Bangok so much!! Glad that you and Ashley had a great trip. Can’t wait to see your loot 🙂
