We went back to Ipoh during the recent long weekend just so we can eat our favourite food such as mushroom sauce Chee Cheong Fun, Hakka noodle, fried turnip (sar kot fu pei) and drink some good Ipoh coffee at Sin Yin Loong. I also took this opportunity to catch up with my besties. It was great seeing them and we chatted for a couple of hours at the Purple Cane Tea House. I think our laughter could be heard a few streets away.
Besides the food mentioned above, we also never fail to buy the Hainan Pau from Yei Lock coffeeshop. Hubs is an ardent fan of these fluffy buns with savoury fillings. Yei Lock coffeeshop is situated along Jalan Kampar.
A variety of pau with fillings of pork, chicken, lotus paste, kaya and vegetarian ones. They are also famous for their lor mai kai (Glutinuous rice chicken) and every time when I am there, I see a long queue of people waiting to buy the buns and lor mai kai.
