So missy was absent from school last Friday due to the bad haze. The API reading was around 180 which is very unhealthy so we kept her home. Last night, I had to write a letter to her class teacher regarding her absence. She told me that it is better to write in Chinese because she ‘thinks’ her teacher doesn’t know how to read English. Of course her teacher knows how to read and write English but the silly girl thought that since she’s in a Chinese school, all correspondence should be in Chinese.
I told her I don’t know how to write a letter in Chinese so she said she would do it and then I would sign….hahahaha. Good idea and this is what she wrote :-
Translation :-
“Dear Teacher Chen, Ashley did not attend school because the weather was not very good. Signature : ______”. That’s my funny girl. Teacher Chen asked her why she didn’t let me write the letter and she explained that her mom doesn’t know how to write in Chinese.
so smart! Clap clap!!
In my girls’ school, we parents can write the absent letter in English 🙂
