Two weeks before the Raya break, my friend and I decided to make a last-minute reservations at Lexis, Port Dickson. We wanted to take a break this long weekend and preferred a place near the sea instead of the hills like Fraser’s or Melaka. Most of the hotels are fully booked in PD but we managed to book 2 water chalets at Lexis. It was an expensive one – RM630 per chalet, inclusive of breakfast for 2.
We left KL on Sunday morning at 8am and reached Port Dickson at around 10am. Hubs wanted to drive around and look for interesting places. We have not been to PD for a few years already. First stop was PD Waterfront. There is a row of restaurants facing the sea. We had breakfast at McD. Then we drove around and came to the Chinese Temple. Not sure what is the name of this temple but it is a huge one that is right beside the main road. There were a few antique-looking chairs like the chippendale chairs at Laurel Crown in the main hall of the temple. The main attraction in this temple is the tortoises and turtles.
After that we drove further and decided to visit the Tanjung Tuan Lighthouse (Cape Rachado) near the army camp. We were surprised to know that the lighthouse is situated in a forest reserve. My hubby was a happy camper since he loves hiking. So off we went to check it out. The road leading to the lighthouse was steep and it was facing the Straits of Malacca. I did not take any photos of the lighthouse though the view was breathtaking as I have this fear of height. My knees went limp when I looked down to the sea.
I think it would be great to check out the jungle trail that leads to a mystical well, the foot print of Hang Tuah and maybe camp near the beach. After we met up with my friend and her family, we proceeded to have lunch in Lukut as our room is not ready till 4pm.
A view of the water chalets.
Our chalet for the night.
Our chalets are the furthest out to the sea so we got a very nice view. After we have settled in, I sat outside on the balcony to enjoy some sea breeze. It was therapeutic.
Watched a beautiful sunset.
The next morning after breakfast, the kids went for a swim in the pool and then we rented the bikes for some cycling fun around the resort.
We also spent some time at the beach. The kids had fun playing at the beach.
All three of them in the water.
We checked out at around 1pm and left for KL after lunch. It was a short and fun getaway for us.
