Everyone feels stressed at times.  There are also times that we feel particularly overwhelmed with tension in our lives.  Stress can come from work or personal circumstances.   We also live in very uncertain times so it is understandable that many people feel extremely anxious.  According to a US Study, women cope better with stress than men because of their female hormones.

Managing stress can come in many different forms.  Some people do yoga, go for a run, journaling or being on the beach.  For me, the one that gives me the boost is shopping.  Who doesn’t like shopping eh? Retail therapy can actually help a person to live a longer and healthier life.

Although shopping is not the conventional type of therapy, it does have positive emotional effects on people. Shopping relieves stress and anxiety, which can be good for some people.  However, shopping can also be a problem because it may cause overspending.  Once all the shopping are done, people often become stressed over how much they paid.

Too much stress can lead to depression.   One in three people goes through depression or panic attacks at least once in our lives.  Depression or depressive disorder is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how a person feels, think and act. It causes feelings of sadness and, or a loss of interest in activities once enjoyed. It can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems and can decrease a person’s ability to function at work and at home.
